Hey, noticed some things lately for people to commend reviews they really liked, which is very cool. Was thinking we could have a running thing where people can post their reviews here for tips, criticism and feedback.

I'll first post my latest review here, of Steve Hackett's Voyage of the Acolyte. It's a very emotional album for me, and I am trying to make my writing less dry and boring, hopefully making it a little more personal and engaging to the reader. If you can offer any criticism (as harsh as it needs to be) and can give any tips on how to improve on this or any other reviews I've written, I'd gladly accept any feedback, good or bad!

My Review: http://www.progarchives.com/Review.asp?id=854034

Cheers!
Conor

Voyage of the Acolyte is a strange album for me. When I listen to it I think "This is good. This is a good album." But I never want to listen to it and I don't find any of the songs memorable (I can't remember a single tune from the album now and I am trying.) I guess it just doesn't connect with me, although it is well composed, performed and produced.

I didn't read your review. It was long. But I thought your paragraph length and spacing was very aesthetically pleasing.

Fantastic review. I was annoyed at how in the first paragraph you said " may be seen as the route Genesis would have taken, had Hackett been given full control instead of Collins." Collins was not the only one who wanted the band to go pop. Both Mike and Tony wanted to move into that direction, and I am infuriated by people who say otherwise. But other than that It's great

Very good postClap

I, too, get sick and tired of this unfair Collins bashing.
