Rob; not sure I understand the whole Blade of Cain special, could you explain ...

You have to be careful with that one. It's only a dagger (1d4), but the damage modifier is whatever your opponent's attack bonus is (for better or worse).
Ex. 1:
Your opponent has a +4 attack.
Then the Blade of Cain is 1d4+4 (5 to 8 points of damage- relatively powerful).
Ex. 2:
Your opponent has a -4 attack.
Then the Blade of Cain is 1d4-4 (0 to 0 points of damage- a useless thing, even with a critical hit).

I'll lower the price of my Gamma Knife down to 5. It is also very rare, but made in the mines of The Singing Dwarves. Legend has it that it only the super cool can weild it, though, so buyers be ware.

More than one training point on a character always makes me nervous because it makes me feel like I screwed up (which I did).
I don't think the additional defense point would have brought you victory though. (But I really am sorry  ).
