I think it's misunderstanding.....

I mean it as literally, you are choosing to believe that.
I am sorry, but there's no other way to spin in. You, nor no one knows there is no god. Likewise no one knows there is one. Either side can is ultimately choosing to believe what they do, based on what is enough for them.

It's funny because I am obviously much closer to atheism to any organized religion, (and certainly Christianity). Even on the days I decide I believe in a god it's not the "normal" one, and sometimes I doubt there is anything at all.
So it's not even like I'm still clinging to some antique idea that we need the big dude up there.
You can say it until you are blue in the face, it won't change anything. Atheism is not based on faith - you are just playing with words to piss people off and I can dig that, but an atheist does not have to believe anything _ I don't have to believe in the Big-bang or evolution to be an atheist, I don't need faith to deny the existence of the Tooth Fairy or Harry Potter - I don't need to know anything to accept that - I do know for a fact that Harry Potter was written by JK Rowling, I do suspect that the character was based upon another story of an orphaned school boy wizard in glasses with a scar, but I don't know that somewhere along the way a real Harry Potter did not exist, but it is unlikely - the most plausible explanation is he was invented by a writer of fiction. Theists may get angry at that analogy but it's the same thing and requires no faith to say it.

Hey it's true!

I could get if someone wants to maybe say "Hey god, this is a beautiful day, and nature is an amazing thing...thanks" but this worship thing is silly. I was semi being funny but really the best way to put it is "God is a selfish jerk!"

Also something I've thought about is how a lot of Christians tend to make god human like. I guess we can't help it...but I'll ask "Why hasn't god answered all of my prayers" some have actually said: "Well there's a lot, he can't do it all"    What kind of being of infinite power and intelligence is that??

Or that god demands we worship him, pretty arrogant for a being of pure love and beyond our words eh?

It's why Deism was appealing to me. God is just chilling there, and since we were given intelligence and the ability to solver our problems, we don't need to pray to anything. We certainly don't need to be at a formal church, praising him with the $10 in handDisapprove

Oh zooks you made be all serious.
You are a divine being Grape Jam.

Well here's where you f**king piss me off. That's all fine, but I am god damn sick of "trolling"
You didn't use the word, but why is it impossible to accept I actually....tada...believe this?
I may be wrong, clearly I am to you but I'm not trying to piss anyone off.

I have other ways to do that.
Whenever I say atheism is a religion, or that its just depressed people THAT is when I'm trying to piss people off.
So I guess I can no longer use either on PA...Cry

Also I'm not a theist, that's why I'm agnosticTongue

Anywho, you're right in wont change anything. That's why IMO it's a faith based decision. You are sure of something you can't know.
As for words, everything is words. Probably I'm atheist...just not willing to use that word, at least not yet.

Deathspell Omega are Satanists but I still like their music.
Douglas Adams can have opinions which I agree with, without me being a radical atheist.

And it was a close battle....but eventually a winner pulled out.

LADIES AND GENTLEMEN:

ATHEISM WINS
PartyBeer

13 - 10 whew....if only some Christians weren't so lazy you guys could've kept your religion.

That settles that, once and for all, and forever.
So I never want to see another religion thread again!
Thanks for the participation PA in deciding what is the best belief system out there.

I ask the admins to close this thread nowApprove

Yes, I am sure. The point of this was whichever gets the most votes, wins.
I said it in the OP and that's how it is!

I aint no atheist, but PA has voted. And I never go back on my word.
Though Dean has said he wont close itAngry
Still I declare atheism the winner.

Feel free to discuss religion if you folk want, but there's no point now.

Ok we still have some people that might flip (there's a lot of that going around these days). A single flip in the atheism side would almost tie things.

There never was a point in the first place.  You lumped in things that weren't a religion.  And why should it be closed.  If you can't accept your powerlessness to close a thread you started then you bloody well shouldn't have started it in the first place. Wink

Atheism, eh? Unhappy

I still say either Agnosticism or 42 should have won. And I don't quite get why so many people voted for Christianity.
My smile is stuck, I cannot go back to your Frownland.
