looking for the root of words "KING CRIMSON" I discovered in a very old book that this name is nothing but and nothing less than LUCIFER,  in spanish "EL REY CARMIN" but ahaha enchants that group to me. GOD BLESSES IT.!

You got it - the guide and spirital backing to all the
great progressive rock artists. Whether it be through
narcotics, hallucenigens, ritual, occult, mystical
teachings, power, intellectual pride, sexuality or
majik. It is the horned wonder at the controls in his
quest to lure, entice and fascinate man a little more,
and a little more and just about there! GOT HIM!

so do be careful where you thread, he aint playin',
though you may be!

Remember, Ripples never come back, their gone to
the otherside.

Tell all the people that you see, its just me! Follow
me down. You tell them they dont have to run, were
gonna pick up everyone. Cant you see the life thats
killing me, its for free, follow me down.

jim morrison - the doors....

Yea, i always thought if i ever thought a prog band i would call it Baal Zvoov, hebrew for the devil (the literal translation is Baal = Lord of the Zvoov = Flies).  A slight homage to King Crimson, which Fripp (or sinfield, I think Fripp) has said comes from Bi'il Saba in arabaic, meaning King Crimson, which must be related to the hebrew Baal Zvoov, since they are such similar languages.

Lucifer was the chief musician in heaven

Ezekiel 28:12-19, "...Thus saith the Lord God; Thou
sealest up the sum, full of wisdom, and perfect in
beauty. Thou hast been in Eden the garden of God;
every precious stone was thy covering, the sardius,
topaz, and the diamond, the beryl, the onyx, and the
jasper, the sapphire, the emerald, and the
carbuncle, and gold: the workmanship of thy tabrets
and of thy pipes was prepared in thee in the day that
thou wast created. Thou art the anointed cherub that
covereth; and I have set thee so: thou wast upon the
holy mountain of God; thou hast walked up and
down in the midst of the stones of fire. Thou wast
perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast
created, till iniquity was found in thee. By the
multitude of thy merchandise they have filled the
midst of thee with violence, and thou hast sinned:
therefore I will cast thee as profane out of the
mountain of God: and I will destroy thee, O covering
cherub, from the midst of the stones of fire. Thine
heart was lifted up because of thy beauty, thou hast
corrupted thy wisdom by reason of thy brightness: I
will cast thee to the ground, I will lay thee before
kings, that they may behold thee. Thou hast defiled
thy sanctuaries by the multitude of thine iniquities, by
the iniquity of thy traffick; therefore will I bring forth a
fire from the midst of thee, it shall devour thee, and I
will bring thee to ashes upon the earth in the sight of
all them that behold thee. All they that know thee
among the people shall be astonished at thee: thou
shalt be a terror, and never shalt thou be any more."

From these verses, we see that God did not create
Lucifer evil, but made him perfect. By Satan's own
choice, he became evil and was cast out of heaven.

Men make choices too.

I'm sure Threefates could clear this up, but I seem to remember Peter Sinfield saying in an interview that the Crimson King in the KC classic was a poetic way of referring to the devil, although the name was suggested by someone else.
'Like so many of you
I've got my doubts about how much to contribute
to the already rich among us...'

Robert Wyatt, Gloria Gloom

The name King Crimson was coined by Peter Sinfield as a synonym for Beelzebub, prince of demons; according to Fripp, Beelzebub is an anglicized form of the Arabic phrase "B'il Sabab", meaning "the man with an aim".

See? One of the advantages of being around during the beginning of prog is that I know random facts like that.

many ways to the same source!

trip on, and you'll find him, though you may not tell us
what he wants!

prog, one of his many avenues, he prefers power,
intellect, ritual, beauty and sexuality these days!

So what other type of music would the "Crimson King" listen to (besides the obvious eponymous KC stuff)?

Black/Death metal?

Phil Collins?

Mariah?
Marmalade...I like marmalade.

Richar Palmer-James also stated in some interview, that "The Great Deceiver" is another synonyme for Satan.
