looking for the root of words "KING CRIMSON" I discovered in a very old book that this name is nothing but and nothing less than LUCIFER, in spanish "EL REY CARMIN" but ahaha enchants that  group to me. GOD BLESSES IT.!  -------------  |

Yea, i always thought if i ever thought a prog band i would call it Baal Zvoov, hebrew for the devil (the literal translation is Baal = Lord of the Zvoov = Flies). A slight homage to King Crimson, which Fripp (or sinfield, I think Fripp) has said comes from Bi'il Saba in arabaic, meaning King Crimson, which must be related to the hebrew Baal Zvoov, since they are such similar languages. -------------

Lucifer was the chief musician in heaven

From these verses, we see that God did not create Lucifer evil, but made him perfect. By Satan's own choice, he became evil and was cast out of heaven. Men make choices too.

I'm sure Threefates could clear this up, but I seem to remember Peter Sinfield saying in an interview that the Crimson King in the KC classic was a poetic way of referring to the devil, although the name was suggested by someone else. ------------- 'Like so many of you I've got my doubts about how much to contribute to the already rich among us...' The name King Crimson was coined by Peter Sinfield as a synonym for Beelzebub, prince of demons; according to Fripp, Beelzebub is an anglicized form of the Arabic phrase "B'il Sabab", meaning "the man with an aim". See? One of the advantages of being around during the beginning of prog is that I know random facts like that. |
