Actually, I decided Tribes Ascend is a much better F2P game. And not just because I'm awesome at it.

I downloaded that after a friend told me to start playing it. I still haven't played it though.
Maybe i'll give it a whirl this weekend.

If you've ever played Quake or the original Unreal Tournament it will help a lot
If not, well, gonna have to adjust. Definitely play the tutorials |

What can I say, I've stopped playing Skyrim this year, started playing S.T.A.L.K.E.R. with this fancy big mod (you know, the biggest mod making the game more difficult, far better graphically looking), started, enjoyed and finished all three Mass Effects, tried Diablo 3 Beta, completed most of thingies in Plants vs Zombies, Did 90/90, 87/90 and 45/90 on first three world of Angry Birds Space, tried few levels of Command & Conquer, the original one (which I've been overlooking all my life) and survived through Defense Grid, likeable little game of Tower Defence type.

There's a point where "avant-garde" and "experimental" becomes "terrible" and "pointless,"

Welcome to Dota inspired games.... And yeah, I would personally rather play Tribes, I looked at some stuff and MNC didn't appeal to me.

The only reason I like it at all is that 90% of the players are new to shooters and I can dominate them to bits

Is there still the co-op defense mode from the original? That's the only one I'd play. |

They only have one game mode and 3 maps right now, which is why I'm already bored of it

It shouldn't be choppy, unless you're trying to run it on a netbook or something

The guy in the video game store made fun of me for choosing New Vegas over Skyrim.

I don't really know how that makes you old school. If it was a Gamestop, you don't need an excuse to punch them. They had it coming.

The V.A.T.S. system makes the newer Fallout games way more enjoyable than the ES games, IMHO. Plus, the post-apocalyptic setting is nice, too.

I would choose Skyrim over New Vegas.
But I'd choose Fallout III over both of them. I'd choose Legend Of Zelda: Skyward Sword over any of these (well perhaps).
