I played Uncharted 1 a while ago, but got bored about halfway through. It looked and sounded pretty, but both the combat and platforming got pretty repetitive imo. Are 2 and 3 significant improvements?

Been putting in time on Tribes: Ascend lately. First time I've really enjoyed a competitive game since I was a Counterstrike deity back in the day. If anyone might play who hasn't already signed up, feel free to follow my referral link so I get free experience/gold. I know, I'm so generous.

I might switch to PS-whatever when the new consoles arrive. The 360 has a much better selection of games overall, but the PS3 has online for free and less sh*tty services. Depends on if the next gen continues the trend.
well, by the time it does anyway my PC will have an 8-core 3+ GHz processor and 32 GB of RAM, so the new consoles will have to f**king impress heavily.

I am a hopeless addict. After ploughing through the endless, stupefyingly long and content overloaded Fallout 3 GOTY edition (which comes with all five expansion packs pre-installed) the very next thing I long to do is get the Fallout New Vegas Ultimate Edition which comes with six expansion packs.

New Vegas is better than Fallout 3, by the way.

Really? Because I think FO3 is pretty good. The things I've disliked the most have been some of the expansions being missed opportunities but the core game has been quite satisfying. There are some niggles (mostly to do with missing/incomplete quest lines, such as the missing happy resolution to the Tenpenny Tower quest where you were supposed to be able to expose both Roy and Alfred as villains and unite the ghouls/humans peacefully without one wiping out the other) but it's a great game and absolutely faithful to the spirit of the original games.
I was expecting Vegas to be less impressive, if just because it would largely be more of the same. For New Vegas I've heard over and over again "would be an excellent game but unacceptably buggy" - apparently the original release was even buggier than FO3 which still freezes in VATS from time to time even with patches. But if the Ultimate Edition fixes the patches as it's supposed to, it should just be an excellent game.

In Fallout3 there was a certain cohesiveness missing, a lot of it basically felt like wandering around the wasteland helping every sad sack you see. New Vegas has more of a feeling of objective, IMO I didn't have much bug trouble with either of them. I also modded the hell out of them after first playthrough Edited by Triceratopsoil - April 03 2012 at 19:23 |

For anything but a Bethesda game, waiting to mod makes sense. Bethesda games, however, are just too time-consuming to play through multiple times. |

More often than not what I add are cosmetic mods, since they haven't quite figured out what humans look like yet over there.

New Vegas was written by Obsidian and thus many of the guys who originally wrote Fallout and Fallout 2 with Black Isle Studios, so I think they're probably better suited to the series. Bethesda are terrible writers on the whole.
I've not played Fallout 3 or New Vegas though, so I cannot comment. Anyhow, I finished the original Mass Effect about a week ago. I don't have the second game to play and my laptop is struggling, so I'll have to wait. I'm now playing KotOR again with a new character and I haven't got any further than I did with my other ones. I just want to say the "end clarification" DLC announcement does not discount Indoctrination Theory, despite many who believe it to be true, seemingly having given up on it. I am not saying they will use it. I'm also not saying they won't.
We'll have to wait until the summer. Edited by VanderGraafKommandöh - April 05 2012 at 19:27 |
