I kinda like how I noticed this thread so late, now that it has a (more or less) happy ending.
Otherwise it would be depressing, just reading about this stuff makes me angry.
You're so lucky they found the guy, it usually doesn't happen.
Best of luck in recovering your stuff Rob! Pretty lame that they need the accomplice to pay restitution. Hope they get him soon.

For those interested in the exciting conclusion (?) of our tale, we received a check from the clerk of court today: Damages from the defendant covering the loss of our property.

Good deal, but aren't you worried that the defendant is just going to come back and take the damages again?

This defendant was a cousin who aided in the robbery.  The guy who actually broke in is in jail for at least until this fall.

But what good can worrying do me?

Really not much.  So are you sure that your sister didn't send them to steal your prog stash for herself...and your beer? Wink

It sounds like the plot for a really bad crime drama.

Congrats Rob. Justice where the victim actually gets his due.

Congrats Rob.....we never got our stuff back, but I heard they did catch the little punk.  He nailed just about every house on the block before they got him though.  Brazen as hell, broad daylight, just smash and grab.

We weren't home at the time.....he was carrying a hammer which he left on our bed.  I suppose that was in case we were home.

It's still funny man. Who knew a simple crime could bring so much laughter?
