I frequently walk in front of cars while listening to music. It must be an epidemic. However, I don't have any particularly funy stories to tell, so, adieu.

Ok,I guess I have to feel like a very special person then, one among the select few, very few apparently, who's not only heard of The Books but who actually owned one of their albums. It was a rather good one so you don't know what you have missed you deeply hurtful and evil people who don't even bother to reply to a simple question. You'll be sorry when I'm dead!

I hope nobody took that Rush review seriously. I think Three Fates made a comment about it on another thread. I shall have Max delete it. In the meantime read my more recent review for the Signals album.

Peter and the rest of you,I hope you understood that my little hissy fit was meant as a joke? The Books were among the many obscure bands I made it a passion to seek out when I was in my late teens and early twenties. They sounded like a cross between Ultravox and The Velvet Underground with over (or under) tones of many other art rock phenomenon as well,a strange and heady mix, just right for my impressionable young mind looking for the unusual. I did a lot of missionary work on their behalf among my friends but they were all a bunch of Dire Straits and Level 42 fans and didn't want to know about my weird musical taste, but since you guys have a wider musical horizon that most people,I thought I'd check out if any of you knew of them. Obviously not, which means that they were even more obscure than I realized at the time!
