Like I said, all of them I've ever frequented.  I doubt you'd be familiar with most of the sites in question.  MMA is one of them, though.

No I won't be familiar unless you name them.

Actually, JMA is quite the friendly place. I don't really go on MMA very often.

I dunno Triceratopsoil, this place is a ton friendlier than many other forums I frequent, or used to. Like I said, there's mean/snobby people here, but few forums do not have them.

alright alright we get it...site has come under some criticism so you need to represent the other side.
Wasn't one thing I said how some people seem to defend what is just a music site a little too much? TongueLOL

I kid I kid!
You didn't think about me when you said "friendly community" did ya? Wink

This place is still a good source for finding bands. Wikipedia and the general internet is still good but I continue to find this is generally the best place. Look at the "Top Album" for 2011 list! That alone could give me like 200 bands to try in nice organized list.

The community is generally good, though I have noticed for a progressive music site, (like most fans) prog fans are generally quite closed minded. Oh, and also being progressive minded there are a lot of people who need to "prove" themselves to the most alternative/different/non conformist to ideas...but that happens.

Anywho, not to be mean but if you are 100% sincere ACR you are a little too attached. Sorry. It's a great place to find new music, and is generally friendly, but  just a website!

So censorship is good? Confused

I agree with most of your list, but I couldn't disagree more with this.

Not to mention "when the admins don't belittle people, arbitrarily change things without conferring to the rest of the memberbase, acknowledge reasonable suggestions and discussion by locking threads etc."

...Clicked on my profile there Dean?
Watcha spyin on man?
Stern Smile

And yeah the whole swearing thing I will also disagree with. Not like it being censored is some huge deal but I do think it kind of silly. Well, not only is it just not that bad but...well I think all of us at 13 years old knew most of the words already.
Also as someone pointed out even with the ****** it's not like it's any less worse
If I call you a b*****d, I still did it and you know what I saidLOL

Yep - you and Bob and Rob and Jim and Andy and both Steves and Dennis - as I said before, I look at lots of user profiles daily - often it's just to check their real names because I can't remember them all Brian, some it's to get to their reviews because I like reading them and some it's to search-out a thread they opened that I can't remember where or when... and that's about it really because there's not much else in the profile that is of any use really, certainly nothing that would constitute spying. Paranoia is pretty cheap and easy to come by and nothing to do with me... are feeling insecure about something?

It's okay Dean.  I won't tell them about our rendezvous in Second Life's version of Fiji if you won't.  Wink

Please, tell me which thread and discussions we've shut-down locked down Colin, because I know there have been one or two that we let run until they got acrimonious and petty before having little choice but to close them, yet the way you all go on it makes it sound like we're doing this on a daily basis.

As a wise man once told me, just because I'm paranoid doesn't mean everyone isn't out to get meWink

And not insecure, just joking but I have a feeling you knew that. Or....well again, something I said about people being a tad too defensive?? LOL

I hope you enjoy my reviews, I'll also be coming out with some more tonight. Big smile
Actually, reviewing is one of the things I do love about PA (see I'll add some positivity!)
Sure I could just put random reviews on the internet, or even start a blog..but here so many more people can see them! Some seem to hate reviewing but I love, gives me a chance to be a pretentious and long winded, and it gives me such better appreciation for the music! I feel I get to know it so much better after in depth reviewing.

It was a beautiful wedding, I must say. All the best to both of you!

He'd be a doll if he didn't spend so much time of that stupid Prog Archives.  What's his thing with "Crossover" anyway?  Is he "into" that sort of lifestyle?  Ermm

Why don't you want my love?
Is it my excessive alcohol abuse?
