All the time... The only subject... Actually, there is a libertarian link. The channel was not really BBC but it was running on PBS. PBS: the only government-run thing worth keeping, and better than the private sh*t.. .

Tsk-tsk - the BBC is government run - just not your government.
Tst tsk. I knew that. By the way, is TV as horrible in the UK as in the US?

Of course it is.  Half our programs and show ideas come from the UK.  Tongue

Do news networks suck so much in the UK as in the US?

All single feature networks suck don't they? How else can the fill a 24hr schedule with limited programming without being sucky. We have SkyNews (Fox) and CNN too.

Yes but CNN here for example is single-news network too. They find a story and they do it all day long, with about 5 minutes for anything else...

It's funny that I see this headline and instantly think: post office.

One can hear all sorts of anecdotal evidence for everything.... I just heard a report from a friend of the family living in Canada who says that the entire health care system is horrible, with hours and hours of wait, high-cost medicines and long waiting times; I'm sure there will be others who say it's good. Why does nobody try freeing the market completely?

Because some people will gain, some people will lose, and most people can't tell what group they're actually in. At that point inertia dictates what we have.

EDIT: Here's another great Presidents' Day quote for you.

Ha, I immediately though the same thing without even clicking on the link. When I was a kid, I did like going to the Post Office to browse through the Wanted By The FBI posters. Maybe they should bring that back.
Can you tell me where we're headin'?

Have you crazy people read Heinlein's The Moon is a Harsh Mistress? I would really recommend it if you like science fiction and libertarian philosophy.

Student: Mr. Brown, if the government is in so much debt, then why do they pay all these rappers and athletes so much money?

Mr. Brown: Disapprove

I would have answered: "Government doesn't pay them, private companies and people are free to pay whomever they want however much they want; but if you wonder why rappers and athletes get paid so much by anyone is because morons like you my dear student idolize them..."
