I married a girl at age 18 who I had originally encountered through the common interest we shared in Herman Hesse novels. She play acted the "Steppenwolf" novel and I found that to be true art. She followed underground progressive bands of the early 70's. She traveled the road with me and became the headmaster of the light crew. After 2 years of being married I discovered that she had been born into or through? ....a Satan worshippers sect. This was evident only on her mother's side of the family. She had been working roots on me for years when I traveled the road. This was brought to my attention by Christian musicians I had been working with. The roots she put in my food or the hair in my shoe caused me to walk around in a daze. One horrible incident I can never forget ...was the time she had been sliced with knifes and I rushed her to the E.R.  The knife carvings were Satanic, but the doctor and the police made claim to a drug deal that went wrong. I divorced her.

In the 80's I married a girl who played Cello and electric bass. We divorced.

In the late 80's I married a girl who played Classical piano and performed in a few prog bands. We divorced in 96'.

Married again in 98'

I wonder how the results of this poll compare to the average population and then to another population made of fans of other types of music. It would be interesting to know.

Honestly I think the demographic of "active internet forum user" will greatly trump any effects which could be associated with being a fan of a particular genre. I would expect only minor variation (which could probably be explained by other more fundamental issues such as age and nationality) when compared to other populations of internet forums.

I've been married to the same lady for 12 years and it's a miracle. We both played in working bands and met at a New Years Eve gig. We worked together in 3 different bands after we married which I felt was a mistake as I'm too old for that sh-t. We have 3 children and work very hard at pleasing them and giving them positive direction. There is a lot of love in our family and that is one of the most rewarding experiences in life. After all I've been through...I am very lucky.

As Washington Irving noted, the only side of a house a married man has is the outside.
