Hello all,

I am something of an amateur avant-electronic composer; I do a lot of experimenting with sound collaging and noise music and that sort of thing. However, recently I've had an idea that requires some outside help and the first place I thought to turn for help was the wonderful PA community. Bascially, the idea is this: anyone willing to help sends me a sound file of them playing an instrument- doesn't matter what instrument, or how long or what you play. I will then take these clips, and electronically manipulate, combine and rearrange them to create something entirely new. I would of course credit anyone who helped me out. Again- it doesn't matter what you play: scales on a marimba or screeching distortion noises on a guitar would be equally welcome.

If anyone is interested please just send me a PM and I'll give you my email address.

Additionally, if anyone would like to hear some of my work before they decide to involve themselves, I have two albums on bandcamp for free download and streaming:

or you can listen without even leaving the page:

Any assistance would be much appreciated; PM me if interested. Big smile

Thanks so much to those who have contacted me already about sending things; it truly means a lot. Please please please keep 'em coming! I literally can't do this without your help and the more recordings I get the more interesting and diverse the final product will be. These do not have to be high quality recordings, they do not have do be displays of any sort of instrumental virtuosity or anything like that. If you just want to open audacity and blow into your microphone, I will be able to use that. ANY clip that you can send me (that I won't violate copyright by using) will be incredibly helpful.

Thanks again to those already on board and please do not hesitate to PM me even if you're only marginally interested.

Well, i'm a guitarist wearing 20 different hats trying to produce a prog metal/electronic album in my spare time.
What I have right now is scraps, pieces of songs, it's been challenging keeping myself on schedule and going from laying down bass over drums and then consulting guitars and keyboards for direction and then losing it because of noodling.
When I have someone else to work with then it all gets done in a timely manner, so if you need a guitarist who has too many ideas than i'm your dude, man.
Also, Cubase is an extremely inconvenient program, never again.

Hey broseidon sorry for the delay in my response. Like I said this will probably end up being more of an avant sound construction type thing then it will be "compositions" per say, but if you have any scraps that you wouldn't mind me using for that purpose that would be absolutely amazing. Feel free to PM me if you want.

Also, another huge round of thanks to everyone who has sent me stuff so far. The first track is almost done and I'll try to post it before the weekend is over so people can kind of hear what this is going to sound like. If anyone else would like to contribute that would definitely still be welcome, again literally any noise you send me will be helpful!

Thanks again all, and don't hesitate to PM me with any questions.

Hello all,

Sorry for the delay, I know I said I would put the first track up like a week ago but as usual life and schoolwork got in the way. Anyway, the (very strange) first track is now completed.

Thanks to triceratopsoil, dreadpirateroberts, and vompatti, whose clips were used in this track, as well as my friend Rob who sent me the narration used at the beginning. Thanks also to anyone who has sent me clips, rest assured that they will be used as the project progresses.

Nice work, that turned out really well

I must admit, the part I contributed sounds a lot better as a part of that than it did alone LOL

Glad you guys enjoyed! Second track is in the works now; should have a totally different feel to it. I'll put it up once it's done. Thanks again to everyone who's contributed and if anyone else would like to it's definitely not too late.

Hello again! 2nd Track is completed. Thanks to Pekka, vompatti, triceratopsoil and dreadpirateroberts for the clips which were used in this one.

Also, I know it's a bit early, but I always like having artwork to go with music so if anyone is a photographer/artist/whatnot and has something they've always wanted to see as an album cover...

Thanks again to all contributors thus far; I apologize for the slow rate at which this project is moving but unfortunately my free-time is scarce. LOL
