Would that be Chester's gorilla, or a Sears gorilla?

Can you tell me where we're headin'?
Lincoln County Road or Armageddon.

We need Chester here. I usually agree with good ol' Chester too. I believe Negoba is referring the album by the Bonzo Dog Doo-Dah Band.

I was being too literal...the band name Animals as Leaders was taken from a book about a gorilla.

You are quite a fine person, and I am very fond of you. But you are only quite a little fellow, in a wide world, after all.

Not the same Chester... I still think Chester should come and here again though. We need some balance.

Chester thinks libertarians and Republicans are evil. Not mistaken in ideology. Not prone to error as people are. Evil. This is not helpful for expressing a more progressive side of politics.

Well...I may be inclined to believe Republicans are evil. At least some!

I kind of agree with him though.
I wouldn't say evil though. I just feel saddened that people can have many of those views.

Would you allow for individual states to pass such measures?

Not directed at me, but I think the availability of contraceptives is a human rights issue. States should not be able to pick and choose human rights issues, which is why I support legalization of same-sex marriage on a federal level. It may be an extreme side of the issue, but the States do not have a right to pick and choose to own slaves. It is fundamentally wrong. Just as is not making contraceptives available when they can be available.

He no Republican! Naw, they arent evil....just corrupt and who isn't? OR some are just woefully misguided in their "moral conservative" beliefs I feel kinda silly, but I think some in the Wubya administration (not him) are evil, to be frank

Actually, Paul was a nominee for the Libertarian Party once. Nice of him to change his mind and stick with the Republicans.

Yeah he's a smart fella...knew there was no success barking up that tree. Even if he ran solely to spread the word, much easier on a major party.
Oh and you mentioned his age, there's good ol Rand! Obviously another generation of fighten the man to be had!

Ron Paul would face a great deal of opposition to what he wants to achieve, if elected. Can you imagine trying to push through the abolition of the Federal Reserve banking system, through both houses? Both parties are signed on to a political dynamic that serves global investment banks and not the people. The Federal Reserve has been bailing out European banks, while a number of US states head towards bankruptcy. It's fundamentally wrong, and corrupt.
We can quibble over health care, and gun ownership and where Ron Paul stands on such issues, but the time is right - in my opinion - for the US electorate to be at least offered an alternative to crony capitalism.
I was a Labour voter all my life, and counted myself as a socialist. The NuLabour experience opened my eyes to the reality that what was needed was not conservatism re-branded as 'neo-liberalism' but a completely new approach to politics. Until government gets out of bed with mega corporations, I'll not be casting another vote in a UK election. At least in the US, folk do have a choice, and that choice is Ron Paul. If I were a US citizen with a vote, I would probably have been a democrat voter all my life. That would change if Paul won the GOP. Otherwise, I too would probably abstain.

I've often voted Green Party if I don't know the candidates even though I know it's just a protest vote.
Funny story...
In Illinois we have a perennial Green candidate for Governor named Rich Whitney. In the last election, he was getting enough attention to really annoy the major candidates. For some strange reason, his name was accidentally changed to Rich Whitey but just on ballots on the south side of Chicago.
