I am 100% serious about my distaste for men having long hair. Your website that has not been updated since 1997 does not dissuade me.

Well no need to be a dick about it. My website needs no updates as the content is timeless.

When I wanted to have long hair, I was not yet old enough to escape from my mum's influence. Now, at the more mature age of 52, I sense that my (dis?)taste has something in common with Henry's.

I dunno, the thought that Henry is 100% serious in his distaste for me is strangley reassuring. I won't sit next to anyone on the bus with a skinhead, buzz cut, or odd-looking "pudding basin" so I guess the feeling is mutual.

Is there a limit, or should we start with naming 5 per post?

while my hair used to run down the middle of my back (but not out front on on the sides) until the mid-00's; they're now just falling on my shoulders

I don't go bald: I'm very happy about that. I never had long hair though.
I had my first grey hairs early, but it's not going fast, so overall I'm very happy. |

From a 1978 Steve Morse interview:
So then our family moved to Georgia, and I freaked out. Total, complete culture shock. Because as soon as we stepped off the plane and said, “Hello, Georgia,” rednecks started hassling me and my brother – immediately. Because our hair was halfway over our ears, and it was totally unheard of. Would they kick you out of school for it? Sure! I mean, from the very first day. I got into a fight with kids
my own age, a gang of rednecks. This is the scene: We move to Georgia,
it’s burning hot, I don’t know anybody, the music sounds terrible on the
radio, there’s dirt everywhere, our house has no lawn. I walk outside
and get in a fight with everybody. Go to school the next day with a
black-and-blue face, really pissed off at the world, and then they kick
me out of school. They won’t even let me register! So that was in eighth
grade, and how old are you in eighth grade – 13? And it was in a time
in my life where it wasn’t too cool to have too many social disorders.
And every week – or every two weeks – from then on, they would
just kick me out. Same thing: “Why don’t you cut your hair?” “Okay,
sure. I’ll cut my hair.” And then I’d just push it behind my ears and
say, “See, I cut my hair.” They’d say, “Okay. Wait a minute! What’s
that!?” Edited by Slartibartfast - December 22 2011 at 05:07 |

I had long hair for a couple of years, then I got bored with it. Sometimes it looked great, though.

About the longest I ever had my hair was in junior high school, but best I could ever do was the Tom Petty
look. Now I just get the businessman special. Still mostly a dirty blonde, but in the wrong light the silverhairs can be seen.

I had a similar hairstyle to Robert Plant back when he had a lion mane, but had to trim it down because I couldn´t breathe. Must´ve lost a couple of pounds right there...
Right now, I´m sporting an Indian Hiawatha Mohawk due - only with some wild looking curls. I think I´ll let it grow long again, and seeing as none of the men in my family loose their hair - I´ll probably look like Moufasa when I´m old and shout profanities at trees and lampposts. |
