Well it appears I've finally gotten there, Skyrim has gone buggy.
It's running fine actually but unless I am retarded, it appears I physically can not complete the thieves guild. Person I need to talk to goes under the f**kin floor??? Gunna try re loading, and deleting patches. If nothing then....well guess I get to keep the skeleton key because I cant finish the quest line lol This is weird though, unlike Joel (or others) I had no bug issues and trace amounts of lag. Even on the quest, nothing at all. Then boom, its gone buggy. A friend of mine heard that after 60 hours it falls apart on PS3 and Im at 62. god damn! Edited by JJLehto - December 14 2011 at 19:56 |

I've yet to encounter any vile bugs or glitches. Once my new copy of Mass Effect arrives in the mail I'll be attached to completing it and the sequel. Love those games.

On ps3?
Like I said, I've had no issues and would say it's been running beautifully, occasional lag but what can you expect and it was only for a few seconds. Saw a comment on YT saying how the patch made things worse and how "karliah is now under the floor" so I'm gunna try deleting the patch. If no good then I'll just play on and never beat that quest line and keep the key. Just hope more things dont happen. |

@JJ: My thieves guild quest is f**ked too. -----SPOILER ALERT----- To return the key, you know how you go to that dungeon? I went there once, did a tiny bit of it (up to the statue) and then decided I'd come back and finish off later. Well, now the huge stone door behind that ghost guy at the front doesn't open anymore, so I can't finish it. Honestly I'm too disappointed with Skyrim to want to play it much anymore. Really, really disappointing. Just bought the Humble Indie Bundle 4 and some games on gog.com -Arx Fatalis -Gothic 2: Gold Edition -Far Cry -Heroes of Might and Magic III: Complete Edition So I should be set for a while completing these. |

Word Joel?
Yeah the fact that I saw a comment on YT saying EXACTLY what happened to me says the patch causes issues with that quest. I tried re loading and even deleting the patch (which wont allow me to load files so that's no good) and yeah, that mission is f**ked. Same thing, I speak to karliah and she magically pops under the floor. I did walk around in Whiterun and it's fine, and did a mission without issue so for right now...I'm gunna say f**k the thieves guild and play on as normal. I can live without officially beating it. I have noticed load times have gotten loner, quite excessive at times. Again, for me not an issue but I am fearing this all adds up to my game will go to hell. Cant blame ya, I'd not want to look at it either man with all the issues you've had Edited by JJLehto - December 14 2011 at 21:13 |

My mate who plays it on PS3 has stopped playing it due to bugs.
I usually buy games at the end of their life-cycle. |

I don't usually buy games at all, which sucks. I was lucky enough in this pay cycle to get myself another workable used copy of Mass Effect 1 for ten bucks to justify my playing Mass Effect 2 (I'm neurotic and if I don't start a character in game one I don't feel right playing through game two).
So now it's a blurry mesh of Fallout III and Skyrim. I can't believe I still prefer the former.

i think the secret is that the RPG belongs in the turn-based world and it's just impossible to make a game that really feels satisfying when constrained by skill checks, and immersiveness doesn't nearly make up for it when it's not true immersiveness - having a HUD, an abstracted exp. meter and a camera over your shoulder staring at a horse which turns transparent sabotages every attempt at that.
basically the lore is the greatest part of the Elder Scrolls at this point and they should be writing some very fine fantasy novels in lieu of clunky games |

^^I couldn't possibly disagree with that statement any more. I think the gameplay is what makes elder scrolls, the ability to do anything. It towers over turn based games in my opinion (not the biggest fan most of the time.) Any time a game pushes the limits with how much **** they can put in a world like Elder Scrolls does, theres going to be glitches. Forever that will be true because the better the system the harder they'll push it.

Wow, I would strongly disagree the RPG belongs in the turn based world I just could not play Final Fantasy (being the biggest name) and others I've seen...ugh it's just watching hours of cut scenes with game in between and ever since I was young the whole....2 sides waiting around, one attacks, jumps back, other attacks. IDK was just lame and boring to me I do love the "western" RPGs though like Oblivion, Fable, KOTOR. And to be fair.....let's not get caught up entirely on Skyrim....Oblivion and even more so Mororowind were absolutely beloved and while there may have been minor issues, to say The Elder Scrolls were clunky games is a bit misleading. It is pretty sh*t though that Bethesda has, most likely, NOT ported it for the PS3 and not tested the games. I knew New Vegas was gunna be the buggy mess it was because that was developed by Obsidian and they made the mess known as KOTOR2 but Skyrim, man guess Bethesda just has it out for ps3 after all. |

I mostly agree with Laplace on this.
Although for me it's more that I don't like open-world RPGs. I love the old Black Isle games. They're based on a turn-based system though. |

The open world is exactly what I love, and the physical turn based style just isn't my cup of tea.
One the newer Final Fantasies (I have no idea anymore) was literally linear. Like there are walls of stuff on the sides, and all you did was run forward for like 60 hours! People were raving about it, I'm sure the story and all was good but wtf how is that enjoyable? |

I've only played the SNES Final Fantasy's and FF7 on PlayStation, so I cannot comment about the later ones.
The random encounters do get a bit annoying, it has to be said but the the other elements aren't too bad. However, I much prefer Black Isle/BioWare games. |

That would be Final Fantasy XIII, I believe. I remember 12, though. It was really open ended. Sure, there were more restrictions than with a Bethesda game, but hey...

Ah ok, yeah there are so many FFs I dont even.....I'm sure other ones were more open ended but it blew my mind that was the game they made after years and millions of dollars.
The guy at Gamestop was all "yeah but it has some of the best fighting, you get to it after like 40 hours" : O no thanks. |

well I wasn't really referring to jRPGS so much as stuff like Baldur's Gate o:3
but I do think that game creators and I have greatly diverged on what the core of a game is, ie, what makes it fun... if it's a platform game, make the main character fun to move around; if it's a competitive game, balance it; if it's an attempt at a GAME OF THE YEAR, don't leave anything in that calls attention to the suspension of disbelief |

Hell, I love Baldur's Gate. Bioware has never let me down. Mass Effect, Jade Empire, Planescape, Kotor, Baldur's Gate, etc. Love them to death. Mass Effect 2 was tons of fun. I love having options. I like being able to make all sorts of characters and hop hot into a world. I love uncertainties and vast explorations. So open ended RPGs tend to be my favorite.
