The rap has nothing to do with it for me, and you know that is so Colin.
Just where do they fit??
So they have a krautrock album?
I know "one album" is what it takes but have some line to draw in the sand peopleLOL
Also, the collab with Faust is cool but I also don't see how a collab negates all else. If Korn collabs with King Crimson tomorrow they are now prog?

Just my two cents. Obviously up to the opinion of the whole collab group and whichever team it falls on.

I'm making a prog rock album, then followed by 12 pop albums and demand inclusion Tongue

Tough call, but based on what I know of their discography to date they're as much Industrial with some avant rock as they are hip hop. There's been more crossover between Krautrock and hip hop than you might think; Afrikaa Bambaata used a lot of Kraftwerk grooves back in the 80s, and Holger Czukay did a collaborative album with Dr Walker. The Faust collaboration is already on here - why not stick them in eclectic, irk a few purists and open a few ears to new sonic possibilities?

It might be worth mentioning that they've also toured with various bands in our experimental/post-metal genre.

Untitled is totally kraut, also. Since their albums and collaborations span over various genres that at least include avant, electronic, and kraut, then they should at least be considered for crossover or prog-related.

But nothing I say matters and I'm purely a fool.

As ya know I'm a fan, and I don't even have a problem with, good, rap but it's not rock music.
I know, this isn't really the prog rock archives anymore but, well I'd need to hear a lot of their stuff. Not a knock on the group at all, and it is music but not sure where, if at all, they realistically fit.

Your cat avatar offers no other way to go than to submit to your opinion.

Actually, what's the most "hip-hop" or "rap" album here on PA database ?

There's a point where "avant-garde" and "experimental" becomes "terrible" and "pointless,"

Ironic really, a sub genre that due to it's infinite regional variations, cannot even be considered a musical style and yet we have an album that is described as pure Kraut or Totally Kraut.

Impossible to define the Krautrock critter really but this at least gives you the lineage:

A movement of experimental, electronic and psychedelic bands/artists in Germany, during the late 1960's

i.e. more an attitude than an audible characteristic. I've only heard two Faust albums but cannot discern a single morsel of that flavour (or even the Cologne, Berlin or Munich schools) anywhere on Untitled (and yes I've listened to the whole album) I quite liked Dalek but they have no place here IMO. At this rate we will have bands suggested for Kraut who have merely name-dropped Can, Amon Dull, Faust, Floh de Cologne et al in an interview. Prog has always struck me as the healthy antithesis of the 'terminally right on' mindset.

Been listening to 'Abscence'
Public Enemy/Wu Tang Clan meets Sonic Youth in one of their kraut-y mindsets?

It prolly won't happen. Still, thanks for the tip Thumbs Up
