6 Better scripts
7 No hammy love scenes between Padme and Anakin

Easy. The prequels. The worst of the new movies (Phantom Menace) still entertains me more than two of the three old ones, even with Jar Jar, the worst atrocity in movie history, in it.

I went with the original trilogy, but I like the prequels a lot, too.

If we're talking about reading, though, I'd take the Timothy Zahn Star Wars trilogy over reading either one.

LOL

No.  Really what I meant to say was LOL.

2.  The only decent actors in the original trilogy were Alec Guinness, Harrison Ford and James Earl Jones.  Of course, Ian McDiarmid rocked too, but he had far more screen time in the prequels.
5.  The original trilogy plot, while it was fun, was full of space battles and blowing up the death star (twice) really had no depth.  I loved it as a kid and I still can enjoy them for what they are, but it's all very generic to me now.   The plot of the originals was very 1 dimensional.  The prequels had far greater character depth, political intrigue and overall a far more interesting plot, with less emphasis placed on big space battles and more emphasis placed on character and plot development.
6.  See #5.

I can understand your anger at me, but what did the horse I rode in on ever do to you?

The prequel plots make no sense at all.

admittedly the prequels had the best lightsaber fights

and some good characters

but still had awful things like

jarjarbinks.gif (22185 bytes)

and bad acting

so i have to always choose

The original trilogy is better, but the third movie of the prequel (Revenge of Sith) is awesome. And Star Wars is the story of Anakin, more than Luke!

Hayden Christensen is the worst actor ever to be in a big budget film. Period.
I'm so mad that you enjoy a certain combination of noises that I don't

The only thing that makes the prequel worth watching is getting to oggle Natalie Portman and all the cool lightsaber fights.

I prefer the original trilogy.

I'm probably one of the few people here that saw the prequels first Embarrassed

But I really can't decide. I think they're all very entertaining, but not great cinematic achievements or anything.

I'm not even a Star Wars fan and I know this is an absurd question.  It's the one that has Ewoks, of course.

1 No Jar Jar...

Yes, I think the film - makers expected that Jar Jar would become popular, as some sort of galactic Goofy.
It was quite an irritating character, though, and they rightly put him to the background in the Post-debut-prequels Wink
