Got some pitching tonight but no hitting. Making the Stros look like a playoff team.

Man, I wish Brett Lawrie had been with the Jays for a larger chunk of the season. Technically he would have if he hadn't been injured.
Someone here has to know this: How many games does a player have to play before they are out of the running for Rookie Of The Year for the next season?

No idea off the top of my head.
So the Sahx series is currently split, would love the Yanks to just win a series against Boston but AJ is pitching soooooo yeah Also looks like tonight is the MLB debut for Jesus Montero, the proposed next great catcher and player for the Yanks Edited by JJLehto - September 01 2011 at 18:06 |

From what I understand Montero won't be sticking behind the plate.

Yeah he's purely offense right now, supposedly going to be eased into catching. Well I don't know, maybe he'll be started right out next year, but currently he's just a bat.
Did go up to the plate 4 times with a total of 7 people on base. Can't have a much more pressured start then that. AJ actually did pretty good. Didn't dominate, but didn't suck and kept the game very tight into the 6th, and now the Yanks have taken the lead. Also first time in a very long time he rebounded after a hit instead of collapsing horribly. |

I figured you'd have the answer. The local media is taking their hype to an all new high, projecting Lawrie's production over a full season. I just hope he doesn't go all Eric Hinske on us in a few seasons. I doubt that would be the case though.

The Tigers spanked the other Chicago team 8 to 1.
I saw a guy in the crowd (sitting behind home plate) wearing a Marillion Weekend 2011 t-shirt. Does anybody want to fess up to being this person?

The Miguel Cabrera walk-off homer was epic! What a comeback! Of course, a comeback wouldn't be necessary in this instance if they had immediately placed Brad Penny for assignment. "Bad Penny" is a guaranteed 5+ run pitching effort.

The Tigers hammered the Sox 18-2. By the 7th inning, it looked like an exhibition football game, with most of the Tigers' starters relaxing on the bench.

From wikipedia:
Before the players take the field before the start of every Kansas City Royals home game in 2011, the song Metropolis, Pt. 1: The Miracle and the Sleeper is played. I had no idea, I obviously haven't been to a game this year. |
