I adore Marillion.com. It has one of their greatest (I think) tracks in Interior Lulu and is just altogether a very strong Pop oriented record.

I was down at the Detroit Tigers' baseball game last night and there was a guy sitting in the section in front of me, behind home plate, wearing a Marillion Weekend 2011 t-shirt. Does anyone want to confess to being this person?

Couldn't help but chime in on the neo thread in recommendations. I've been a member here now for 5 years and people still love to crap on the genre without any evidence to back it up. A big reason why I step away from forums from time-to-time.

What you posted was spot on, Eric. I have to bite my tongue a great deal, especially at the moment, when my team Arsenal are losing Neo has brought us some great moments, and the great bands of the sub genre have developed their music over the years. Just listen to Pendragon especially, and, of course, Hogarth era Marillion. Never mind the doubters or the trolls. To hell with 'em!

It just infuriated me. If you don't have anything positive to add to a discussion, then go rot in your own p*ssed off world and allow the others to learn and grow. E Edited by E-Dub - September 17 2011 at 10:03 |

Truefax. I can be sarcastic a lot of the time, but usually it's about politics and news and stuff like that. This is a music forum with a lot of devoted fans to a lot of genres, and to go into a music thread for somebody trying to get into a genre and say everything in that genre is sh*t and to be a complete a****le about it is just terrible. I don't go into threads about genres I don't like, especially if they have devoted fans on this site. And If I do, I try hard not to sh*t them up with opinions no one cares about.

Stone, like you, I stay away from them out of respect for those who like what the thread is about. Most of all, however, it just doesn't interest me. E |

I was relistening to the Brave and Afraid of sunlight remasters earlier. 24 bit ones.
Pete's bass sound on those albums is amazing. Really comes through the mix and sounds fantastic.

Latest e-bulletin:
Some of you were lucky enough to come along to The Lighthouse Cinema in
Wolverhampton to watch the premiere of the Live From Cadogan Hall DVD. It was a truly unique experience to sit in a cinema, full of Marillion fans and see the band in glorious HD on a big screen. There was a great atmosphere, with the band chatting with fans before and after the film. It was such a success, that they have decided to repeat the experience and premiere the Friday night film of Holidays in Eden from this year’s Holland Weekend. Once again, Tim Sidwell and his crew filmed the show in HD and we can expect another stunning film, reliving the Port Zelande experience and giving us a close-up view of the band on stage. The event will take place on Friday 4th November at The Lighthouse Theatre, Wolverhampton and will only be open to Web UK members. Tickets are on sale from 9.00am 3rd October, priced £5 each http://profiles.responsemail. The band will all be attending. Tickets will be limited but we are offering the chance for ten lucky members to win a pair of tickets to the event. To enter into the draw, simply send an email with your name, address and phone number to [email protected] by 15th October 2011. Winners will be notified shortly after the closing date. If you are successful in winning but you have also purchased a pair of tickets, you will be reimbursed for the full amount. We look forward to seeing some of you there. The WebUK Team |
