It's not that I think a prog band has to be original to be good, I like some of Starcastle's material ffs.

Lol, no they don't.

"Show Don't Tell" by Rush
"You Bet Your Life" by Rush Dead
"Neurotica" by Rush
"Face Up" by Rush
"Faithless" by Rush
"Presto" by Rush
"Stick It Out" by Rush
"Cold Fire" by Rush

There's more.  Rush is responsible for a minor avalanche of garbage.  And to make matters worse, "Presto" and "Stick It Out" were on the set list for their most recent tour!

I think most on your list are just so-so Rush songs, not "crimes". But you left off one that I think is a crime (against an otherwise great Signals album): Countdown.

"Countdown" is a song that I sort of ignore, but don't really hate outright.  Apparently, it is not well-liked by Geddy, Alex, and Neil.  I thought "Losing It" was the weakest song on "Signals," but overall that album is pretty good (I'm not a huge fan of their collaborations with Ben Mink).
Worst Rush song ever would have to be "Dog Years."  I like everything else on "Test For Echo," but that song is just embarassing.

Really?  I don't see it that way at all. Losing it is one of my top 10 favorites from Rush.  In the review I'm writing for Signals (not sure when I'll publish--I keep re-writing it) I describe Losing it as one of the two classic tunes on the album (the other being Subdivisions). That's all the more reason I don't like Countdown, because it follows and ends the album kind of weak.

Test for Echo is the one Rush album I haven't heard much of, so I don't know about Dog Years.

"Epping Forest" isn't between my favorite Genesis songs, and it will never be, but i don't think it's a "crime". The thing is it should be four or five minutes long. Not eleven......

"We Can't Dance" is an atrocity....but is it a crime against prog?

I used to think the studio version of "Don't Kill The Whale" was horrible, but listening to a live version turned me around! An amazing song, live!  "Tormato" is an underappreciated work of art.

Russian Roulette by Triumvirat (all of it, it's horrid-especially unpleasant for me, as they are my favorite band)
Gentle Giant-Giant For A Day (i love everything they did up to this, even The Missing Piece, but this is weak and a bad attempt at commerciality)
Wallenstein-Blue Eyed Boys (all of it, it's horrid)
I like this song but does have weak lyrics, but its on Caravans best album.
I do agree with you on Giant for a DayDead

Yes, We Can't Dance is a crime against prog.

Yes, Don't Kill The Whale came across much better live.  The Yesshows version is an improvement, and there are better versions yet out there.

Personally, I've never understood why Abbadon's Bolero is an 8 minute song that exists on Trilogy.

Shocked

Shocked Shocked Shocked

Yeah, it's a really bad pop song.

I would say "love to love you (and tonight pigs will fly) fits that definition.

There are bands, albums and songs that I don't like, but the only true crime against prog was committed by one Robert Fripp, when he declared prog bands to be "dinosaurs", giving the toadies in the music press a reason to show disdain for a genre that was too complex or sophisticated for them.
Trust me. I know what I'm doing.
