I agree. I can here thier progression moving forward through the '00's to more of a "mainstream" prog sound and style. I hope Wilson doesn't go that way of The Incident on the next album. Bring back the heavy prog and/or space/psych sound.

I discovered PT when I was 13 and entering High School. In Absentia was my first and it's still my favorite by far. I was in NYC last week for the listening party of Grace for Drowning, and I was able to speak with Steven there. Check it out below (and sorry if I sound like a troll or attention whore haha. I'm just trying to spread the prog rock goodness).

Just wish SW would give us a little bonus or previously unreleased material every now and then.

From Steven Wilson:
This Tuesday (16th August) I'll be appearing on New York radio station WNYC, on the show Soundcheck. Included will be an interview and some exclusive music from Grace For Drowning. If you would like to listen it starts at 2:30pm Eastern Time. You can listen to WNYC’s simulcast online at http://www.wnyc.org/, or, if you’re in New York, on terrestrial radio at 93.9 FM. |

Is anyone else annoyed that the Bluray version of SW's new album is only available in the super deluxe edition? I'd love to get it, but can't afford it this time around. Annoying to have to miss out on the Bluray copy though. |

I was able to order the deluxe copy and very much looking forward to it. However, would really like a DVD-A for the car. Don't want to sound like a complainer though. That blu-ray is going to sound awesome.

Reactions to Grace For Drowning anyone? I think it's one of the best things Steven's ever done. So much so that I own it on four formats, haha. CD, bluray, mp3, vinyl
'Postcard' has to be one of the best pop tracks he's written. And 'Deform to Form a Star' is just lovely. The album could be a new PT album, for me. It sounds like a more logical progression from The Incident, than from Insurgentes. Maybe it is just me?

Time for me to post in this thread. I'm a Steven Wilson tragic, first listening to Porcupine Tree about 3 years ago and absolutely devouring their entire catalog very quickly. I then moved on to Blackfield, No-Man and Steve's solo stuff and now have gone all 'completionist' and gotten hold of IEM, Bass Communion and the cover versions stuff.
I'm adoring Grace for Drowning lately, I agree that Postcard and Deform to Form a Star are excellent tracks. I really think he has come a long way from Insurgentes as the album feels more coherent and seems to have the meticulous crafting and production that SW is famous for. I'm hoping there will be a DVD of a solo concert/session available one day.
