The Tigs had a big win in extra innings against KC tonight after blowing a 3 to 0 lead in the 7th inning. The bullpen and fielding let us down once again.

Further down the slide. It appears the Buccos have finally reverted back to their losing ways of the last 18 seasons. That hole is just getting deeper and 19 consecutive seasons is not far out of their reach.

Aren't the Pirates going to hell in a hand basket?
Shame, they were doing like good for a while. Usually around this time is when management trades away all their talent. Guess they've imploded on their own? ![]() |

Yep, 9 losses in a row. Their pitching and hitting have gone on vacation at the same time it seems. |

And it seems like just yesterday I was hearing "They lead the division" and "havn't been this good so late since 1886"
But hey, happens. The fact there were doing that well should be encouraging. If the team stays together maybe they'll improve and stay good all of next season! : D |

It's a complete joke that Victorino was the only one to get a suspension.

Incidental contact with an umpire - Suspension
Hurling a projectile at near deadly speeds to injure a person - Fine Jumping up and down waiting to tackle the first person you see for no reason - Fine Walking down the first base line calmly to be tackled by a white haired loser - Fine Then Boeschy has the nerve to say that the league handled the situation well. Nothing like giving your manager and general manager contract extensions the day before a 3-game series against the 2nd place team in the division and then proceeding to get beat. Yesterday was an epic game, but so far today is just an epic spanking.

Gah!!! Leyland is so f**king frustrating with the asinine lineups he trots out. You're going up against a 2nd place team with Jiminez pitching, and what do you do? Put Kelly, Santiago and Dirks in! I don't mind Dirks so much but he botched 2 plays in centerfield that Austin Jackson would've handled easily.
And is it me, or are the Tigers playing with absolutely no fire, while Cleveland is all hyped up? This doesn't bode well. Give Leyland a damn extension and we'll probably see another Tiger swoon soon.

Brett Lawrie has been rather impressive since being called up (aside from a few fielding mistakes). Hit a grand slam last night, and missed another homerun by about a foot.

Didn't catch the last game, but it looked like Jared Weaver took the night off against the Jays.

The Tiger announcers figure that Weaver's game yesterday made Verlander the AL front runner for the Cy Young award. Still a lot of season to be played though.
Tigers have won 2 in a row vs the Orioles, so rather than go for the sweep I assume that Leyland will rest all of the regulars and be happy to have won 2 out of 3.

I would say Sabathia's game against the Rays made Verlander the front runner. I still think CC will deserve it by the end of the season.
Rainy day. Perfect day to sit in and watch baseball, but game is of course rained out because of the weather. Edited by Equality 7-2521 - August 14 2011 at 12:14 |

That was televised? I ended up throwing darts in the rain.
Oh and Uggla's steak ended. Now I don't have to hear about it anymore.
