Ugly game tonight. 6 walks given up, 2 errors and a hit batter. Who is this walk machine Grilli anyway. He hasn't given up any runs as yet but he's walking too many people. I'm hoping for a closer game tomorrow night.

Make it 16 in the 3rd.
Every Yank has a hit, and every one has scored a run.

This is just sad.

I like the Doug Fister  trade for the Tigers, and I also really liked what I saw of Jacob Turner yesterday. An eventual starting rotation of Verlander, Scherzer, Porcello, Fister and Turner will be top five in the MLB.

The best that we could do is Ludwick and Derrick Lee?

I  was surprised yesterday that the Braves looked like they weren't making a move, but looks like they did well for themselves.

Jacob Turner looked pretty good in his debut.  Only weakness was holding runners on first base.  It was a nice surprise to get to the game on Saturday and find out that he was the starting pitcher.  I hadn't known that beforehand.

The Verlander / Weaver matchup on Sunday was all that was advertised and more.  2nd or 3rd time this year I've seen Verlander lose a no-hitter in the late innings.  The 7th and 8th inning antics were some for the ages.  It'll be interesting to see what bad blood spills over into the playoffs (maybe) or next year.

Wish we had gotten Bourn for that price instead of Pence for the price we paid.

Well Derrick Lee went yard and we still couldn't bet the Cubs. Figures...they Cubs could only take one game from the Cards.

Last night was the first Phillies game I went to sleep on before the conclusion in a long time. Went to bed after overrated Pence failed to score any runs in the 8th. I missed the epic comeback in the ninth and win in the 10th.

Stupid four hours of sleep the past 3 nights.

Have you seen the pictures of Pence going to the plate with a doughnut(weight) still on his bat from last nights game?

No I must have missed it. I went to sleep before his last AB. I'm guessing it was on that one.

Yanks put up 18 runs in another big win but good god AJ what happened?
Up 13-1 and he gives up 6 runs in an inning? He didn't work out of it either, had to be pulled.

Even last year he was inconsistent he had some great games, now that's gone. He has the stuff but maybe the NY pressure has been too much.

NY has nothing to do with it.  He pitched that way in Toronto too. LOL

Nah, he was never great but never this bad.
Especially watching him every game...it's amazing.

He's been really emotional lately and has some personal issues. I think it all is getting to him. Also add the fact he's old and not too goodLOL
But yeah, 7 runs and 13 hits in 5 innings. Good thing the Yanks have been putting up like 15 runs a game. On a poor offensive team AJ would have like over 20 losses!

4 game sweep of the White Sox. Nova goes into the 7th, 1 run, 10 strikeouts. Yanks put up 7 more runs. They are clicking on all fronts right now. Can't help but be a bit worried about the pitching but Colon hasn't let down yet, Garcia has been good and Nova seems to be getting better.

Shame that AJ is solidly in the lineup, he should be dropped to #5 at least. For now, everything is good though.

All of that and the Red Sox are still a better team.

They do have better pitching, outside CC there is still no solid pitcher on New York. I mean they have done far better than expected and pretty well, but just have to wonder how long?
Maybe they will maintain all the way trough, but for now I still worry.

Offense is clicking though, never seen em hitting quite like this.
Also they are the Sahx so we all know it doesn't matter!
