Ugh!!!  9 guys left on base in the last 4 innings and 10 Tigers have struck out through 6 innings.  A career high for John Danks.

Clap  A win versus the Evil Empire is almost worth a 17-game losing streak. Wink

I'm getting nervous that the Phillies are going to make a stupid trade.

Brandon Inge Ryan Raburn for Cliff Lee is on the table.
Err...wait that is for an autographed Cliff Lee 2nd year Topps card.

They're traded Lee for sh*t before.

Well the ump went on record to state that he saw the replay and he blew the call for what that is worth. Maybe more plays like this and they'll bring more instant replay to the game. I'd hate to see them miss the playoffs because of this call.

^ I still don't see in any replay where the tag was made. The only good thing about instant replay in the NFL, it must be beyond a shadow of a doubt, conclusive evidence that the play needs to be reversed.

I don't understand how  you can't see where the tag was made. Further, given how routine the play was, I would need to be more convinced that no tag was made.

I like Hunter Pence, but I hate his price. Reportedly we offered Corsart, Singelton and a C prospect for him. To me that is absurd and I would have felt completely gutted if the Astros accepted. I'm so glad that they didn't. Hunter Pence isn't a top 10 outfielder. I would say he's just good. He's going to get expensive after this year, and the Phillies don't really need him.

I would like to see them stand pat. If teams are overvaluing Worely because he's been a little lucky in his starts, I would be willing to trade him (I'd even just trade him for prospect if this were the case) to maximize value. The Phillies will make the playoffs. Last I saw our playoff odds were 97.5%. So we don't really need Worely this year. Though a cost controlled #4/#5 pitcher would be nice next year.

If we can add small pieces for cheap. That's the only acquisition I want to see made. Maybe grabbing like a Giambi or a Thome for off the bench and possible DH later on. Maybe if we could pick up a LOOGY. The only player I'd give up a nice chunk for would be Cuddyer , but it doesn't seem like the Twins are going to move him. Even in that case, they're not getting two A prospects. I'm not trading Corsart or Singelton.

The team should just platoon Ibanez with Mayberry as far as I'm concerned. I'd even just give Mayberry a chance to start full time in left, but I know that's an impossibility unless Raul gets injured. I have absolutely no idea why Mayberry isn't at least used as a defensive substitution as we were doing for Burrell in 07/08.

Hate to see Beltran go to the Giants, but good for him I suppose.

Sad news.  Hideki Irabu was found dead of an apparent suicide. http://www.tsn.ca/mlb/story/?id=372668

Would of rather had him go to the Reds.

Royals had a pretty good series against the Red Sox, split it 2-2. Can't complain at all.
