Wonderful. Just wonderful...

She probably should have gone to rehab it probably would have saved us from talking about it

My wife has informed that she did actually go to rehab.
Released date are often when it it impacted you but recorded dates are when it really happened...

She did go to rehab but her agent made her do it just in "preparation for her tour" not actually discouraging her drug use. Pretty sick, if you ask me and a waste of such great talent. Minus the substance abuse problems Amy seemed to be a truly eccentric and loveable person.

I do think it's sad, but ultimately we all make our own choices and it kind of bugs me to see people blaming the record industry.

Even when they only made her rehab in preparation for a tour? That's kind of their fault amirite?

I mean sure "she's the one who took them" but without anybody slapping her hand telling her no, why on earth would she think it was wrong?

I think there's enough documented horror-stories and negativity regarding drug abuse is not something to mess around with. Unless she lived under a rock before she began consuming these substances, she really didn't need her hand slapped to tell her drugs are dangerous.

There were probably people in her life convincing her to get help, but obviously the demons of addiction are too overpowering for some.

Um, because everyone knows that if you take as many drugs as she took you will die. She was a laughingstock and no one was surprised when she died at such a young age. She had to have been aware of her reputation.

What planet do you live on where there is not a social and medical stigma against illegal drugs (and going way too far with the legal ones)? Did you miss that we've been in a "war on drugs" for the past 40 years? If you want to dissipate blame, it seems she was struggling with mental illness, which was certainly a major contributing factor to her death, and maybe the people around her could have supported her better through that, I didn't know her, so I can't say. Unfortunately, there's only so much that can be forcibly done to help an adult who doesn't want help. But your argument makes no sense whatsoever.

I was mainly pointing out that the record company was in no way stepping in and interfering with Amy's drug problem and it was in response to thellama73's post. I'm not dissipating blame, she had a major problem, I'm just saying that the record industry was not completely innocent as he had said.

I'm saying she needed help, she needed to not be making music and take a break. Her agents wanted her to make money. I'm saying she doesn't deserve all of the blame.

To clarify, yes she was a messed-up individual. She needed loads of help. thellama37 said that he hated seeing blame going towards the record company. I was saying they weren't entirely innocent.

I was kinda just horrified those lyrics were so popular.
Not even sure how to feel about it.

I do know she went to rehab, (wasn't too much my point really) but honestly she was doomed. It is sad indeed, to be so tormented and suffer such a fate so young, for anyone.

sad that the industry put their money in front of her life. i mean sure she could have told her agent that she wanted to stay in rehab, but her career would have been stunted. pretty sad choice: future in life or future in career.

So you don't believe in curses, then?

Let's say I do not have enough information to reject the Null hypothesis that there are no curses.

Her passing is just such a tragic, tragic waste of life. According to those who knew her, she was a true gem before the drugs/alcohol took & destroyed her. Very attentative and brilliant with people. Just the person who lightens up her surroundings and make people very happy. When she was sober, that is.

I am not an expert on her music. But Back In Black is supposed to be a classic album and I may purchase a copy one day. She was capable to release some more classic albums, the experts says.

In short, what a waste of life and another good reason to detest drugs with a burning passion.

There is going to be a movie that plays on this theme of rock stars dying at age 27?
