That would be a nice gesture.

Since they effectively just stuck him with a bill for handing over a .5 million dollar ball for free, i'm not even sure I'd give them the credit of calling the gesture nice.

Guess it would take some amazing forward thinking but he could've said no.

Whateva.

Need to find some way to fill this 7:00 gap that usually isn't here. I hate when that happens.

The obsession over foul/homerun balls is too ridiculous for me to fathom.  It seems like twice a week at least, you see an adult fight a defenseless kid over one. Ouch

Usually at Yankee stadium there are massive walls of "boos" whenever someone grabs a ball from a kid...

My brother once got kinda forced out of the way by an adult a hockey game when a player flipped it over the side.
Grown ups eh? Cry

That isn't too far for Detroit to travel.  That is if our franchise isn't out for an extended period of time because he got hurt in the game yesterday.

I got scared when I saw Bautista make that sliding catch in the game recap.

Could have been the second death of the week over a baseball. Some people must not value their life over a piece of cowhide.

Unfortunately the M's are done for the season. 6 games under .500 with a monster trip to the east coast coming up after this winless stand against Texas is done with...

How about the Phillies?

I like the Ms, but their offense is too putrid to do anything.

When they announced the All Stars before the game, they announced Miguel Cabrera as Felix Hernandez.  Oops.

Pirates are in first. Good for them. Maybe McCutchen will be able to win the MVP award he deserves if this keeps up.

Does feel good for the Pirates, but we're approaching the time they sell all their good players to "restart"

Maybe this year they actually won't Shocked

But I wont hold my breathe

Royals end on a two run homer by Hosmer and save by Soria. Any Twins fans here? I wanna see you cry. Stern Smile

I noticed during the Jays/Yankees game that there were at least 2 instances of fans running onto the field (I was juggling this with CFL football), but they did not air the fan footage on TV.  I'm wondering if it's league practice for channels to cut away from this stupidity to not give these jackasses publicity.  I know I've seen it on TV sometimes, so that mustn't be the case.

That is the league's policy.  They don't want to encourage idiots to go on to the field so that they can get TV coverage.

And I believe that the Tigers' annual 2nd half collapse has officially begun.  Verlander was pretty awful last night and the Tigers got spanked by the White Sox 8 to 2.
