The Tigs beat the Tribe 6 to 2 to re-take sole possession of 1st place again. And then the skies opened up and it started to pour. Timing is everything.

Well the Buccos being 2 games above .500 didn't last long. The Tribe beat em up good tonight.

Add that to the Rockies spanking the Tigs and the Tigs and Tribe are tied for 1st place once again.

I'd switch my av to an Adam Lind image, but I fear his power numbers would drop as well. I'm pretty sure Jose started slumping around the time I switched my avatar.
I hope Lind can somehow get on the All Star team, but 1B is always a competitive spot. They could always stick him in left field for the game, which where he played a few years ago.

Lind's a good player, but your division itself has Texeria and A Gonzalez.

Yeah I know. Gonzalez has earned the starting position for sure.

It should probably go Gonzalez, Miggy, Tex, but Tex will probably outvote Miggy since he's a Yankee and all.

Konerko is also putting up good average and power numbers, though his team is currently 5 below .500. Then in the NL you've got Pujols, Fielder, Votto, Howard (despite a low AVG), and Sanchez putting up decent numbers. I have no evidence to support this, but I'd guess most of the notable all star snubs annually are first basemen.

Howard doesn't deserve a single All-Star vote. He's at best the fifth best 1B in the league right now.
I really dislike watching him play most of the time. Edited by Equality 7-2521 - June 18 2011 at 10:12 |

*sighs* Another lose to the Tribe. I was hoping that we might get out of this series above .500

I don't know who is worse. Howard or Albert "The Ego" Pujols. |

Ego???
omg please tell me that is not seriously your beef. I wish people would at least admit they dislike players because they are good/a rival. I mean a horrible ego in baseball? Or any sport? Go imagine... Though he does seem to off his normal pace this year I'll grant. |

Lol let me make it easy for you. One is already a sure fire hall of famer who will put up absolutely historic numbers barring injury trouble, and the other is a good player. How does he have an ego?

Wanting the biggest contract in sports history for one. At his age he is not worth 30M for 10 years. |

He's the best player in the game. He's a HoF player in his prime. You always get paid for your peak years of production during your decline in baseball. That is nothing new. Why shouldn't he want that contract? Look at the contract Howard got. And Pujols is a lottttttttt better than Howard.

Just watched Clayton Kershaw pitch a two hit shutout complete game over the Tigers. On top of it he drove in tow runs in the top of the ninth then struck out the side in the bottom of the 9th On top of that the news Bud Selig rejected McCourts TV deal with Fox there might be hope at the end of this dark tunnel.
Matt Kemp deserves to be starting on the All Star team this year, 2nd in the league in average, tied for first in HRs, 3rd in RBIs, 1st in Slugging pct, tied for 5th in stolen. bases, tied for 7th in runs scored and 4th in on base pct.

Things aren't going Ricky Romero's way. His past 7 losses, he's only had 8 runs of support total. Jays lost to the Braves last night 2-0. To top it off, their runs were scored of a Tim Hudson homerun. You read that right. Tim Hudson the pitcher . He had a heck of a game.
I watched an inning of the game on an Atlanta based channel, and my god are their announcers boring!! It gave me a greater appreciation of the announcers Toronto currently uses.

Yes he is the best in the game at this moment, although he is having his worst year ever, it just makes me sick to think that the salary escalation will never end in sports. I would like to see the guys who's dream of playing in the big leagues that are career minor league players have something to fall back on when their playing days are over. |
