Well your team should stop accepting I for one would love us to stop spending $ and develop for a change. Girardi was just saying they were going to "depend on youth" since he didn't feel there were good enough out there, but he only has so much input..I'm sure management will go out and get someone for the rest of this season |

There was an article last week about Bautista breaking some unwritten rule about showing up a pitcher. (I think it was a White Sox pitcher. Danks maybe.) Toronto was beating Chicago by 7 or 8 runs and the batter before Bautista hit a home run. Bautista ended up flying out or popping out and in disgust he threw his bat to the ground which apparently was showing up the pitcher by saying "you suck and I should have hit a home run against you, but I blew it by popping out". Apparently since they were winning by so many runs he should have been content to just pop out.

Well the emotionless thing were Girardi's words not mine, I do welcome some degree of celebration.
That's not so much the point though, it was worrying it may become unrestrained. I don't watch every game so I can't make a personal opinion, but Joe said he felt "challenging" batters is happening less and less. That's what I would hate to see. Besides being part of the game...if a player decides to celebrate excessively or disrespect a player/team so be it. You're entitled, just expect to be pushed off base once or twice. Maybe even clunked if it was deemed a bad enough disrespect. Hey the team shoulda valued Granderson higher I guess. I never heard the name but after some time to grow he's become one of the best on the team now. I know since a period of last year he is near the pace of Bautista in terms of HRs. The Royals need to step it up, today's finish was pretty good I guess but I expect an above .500 record. |

aaaaaaaaaaand Big Papi gets clunked and is whining about it now...
Could be a one time thing but I'm hoping Girardi is wrong and this isn't the future of the sport. A good batter, going against your biggest rival, you disrespected a pitcher and his coach. He gets hit, and now is complaining about it? oi..... I used to have some respect for that guy but he seems more and more like big baby sometimes... Edited by JJLehto - June 10 2011 at 16:21 |

I'm going to the Jays/Red Sox game on Sunday. Rookie Kyle Drabek is the scheduled pitcher vs Jon Lester, so a win won't be easy.

And what do you know!
After the sh*tstorm big papi had to cause with the Yanks...a pitch is blatantly thrown right at Teixeira's head. So either players are complaining are about being hit OR they feel its OK to throw full speed at someones head. Whatever...Fausto Carmona has fallen off a cliff since his 07 year anyway. |

Well Scott, you may be a Yankee fan for the rest of the Indians series but don't struggle too hard...gotta love how we were this close to blowing an 11-2 lead.
All mah fears are coming true...the HR heavy offense faltered and the starting pitching is starting to slide back to normality....Also 3 of our relievers are hurt. Today it showed in an ugly way...thank goodness the lead was so large. |

Looked like it was going for the head, I mean he did drop pretty damn fast to avoid it so of course it didn't hit there |

Good game by teh Royals yesterday, Soria was a beast of a closer once again. Glad to see he's found his mojo.

Tell me about it. Red Sox 14 Blue Jays 1 By far the ugliest, most lopsided sporting event I've attended. I think catcher JP Arencibia let at least 3 pitches go past him. Whenever we have an inexperienced starter, we should have Jose Molina go behind the plate instead. The only positive was that Bautista snapped his homer-less drought. At least the Dallas Mavericks just won the NBA championship. That neutralized the (sun)burn.

The Buccos are moving close to .500 again. Still early but I'm liking this trend of staying close to .500. Thanks to the Stros and Cubs for bringing up the rear so far.

McCutchen is finally putting up the elite season I've been waiting for him to put up. Maybe with the jump he's having from very good to great, potential MVP people will stop ignoring him just because he plays for the Pirates.
