Hopefully I don't have to repeat this statement after every game in the finals. Up 3-1, I flip the TV back to hockey, then it's 5-3 Baltimore.

Yanks up 3-1 on the angels in the 9th.
Can never rest easy though, the angels have always give us fits. Even back when the Yankees were good and they sucked... Also looks like CC is going the distance. What a workhorse. Edit: Well 8 and 2/3 is close enough ![]() Edited by JJLehto - June 04 2011 at 22:43 |

9th inning 2-out, 2-strike, opposite field 2-run homer from Miguel Cabrera leads the Tigers to a 4 to 2 victory over the White Sox. Jackson led off the inning with a triple, and is the Tigers' norm, he was almost stranded as Kelly popped out and Boesch struck out, but the big guy actually came through in a game against the White Sox (very rare).

The Tigers have been annoyingly inconsistent this year. But things are looking up: Ordonez and Coke will be back from the DL, and Carlos Guillen is feeling better as well. It's time to put Rayburn and Don Kelly back on the bench where they belong.
Too bad about Mets' 3B David Wright going on the DL for a few months. I was hoping the Tigers could swing a trade. I'm so done with Brandon Inge at 3rd.

Jays win as Lind goes 4 for 4 with a pair of longballs in his second game off the DL. Welcome back, Adam.

It seems like Albert Pujols might be back to being Albert Pujols.

I had a dream that the Phillies signed Pujols and dumped Howard on somebody. It was the most glorious and unrealistic dream of all time.

Do the Phills have pockets that deep?......And do you think that Albert will be playing at this level 5-10 years down the road? |

He's a special player. All players decline of course, but if you look at the players he's comparable to, basically the other top 10 players in the history of the game, they all aged fairly well. Many of them had truly spectacular seasons past their prime. I don't think people realize just how good he is a lot of the time. He walks more than he strikes out and is still able to generate absurd amounts of power. He's just a special player. I wouldn't expect a huge decline.
The Phillies have the kind of payroll to throw at him, but not realistically given their other commitments. Of course though with Ryan Howard, there is a absolutely 0% chance of it. |

Playing the Sahx
One game ahead so pretty critical given how tight the division is. Actually spaced out a bit but still the top 3 within 3.5 Even the O's are less than 7 behind ![]() |
