Ah. That would be the way to go then. Though, you can't replay a pitcher in a game right? Wonder how long they'd let a game go until there's just nothing left When I was younger went to a game that went 13 or 14, I forget, back then I just wanted it to end by that point! You can't reuse pitchers in a game. It was an epic battle. I wish I had been at this one. Wilson Valdez, replacement level utility infielders who hasn't pitched since he was in the Dominican League, comes on in the top of the 19th to pitch to MVP Joey Votto and Drew Stubbs. He gets both of them to fly out. This is one I'll always remember.

When I read the recap and saw the winning pitcher was W. Valdez I lol'd. I went to bed after the 15th inning.

Seeing that Baez was in the midst of pitching five scoreless innings, I naturally assumed the world was ending so I stayed awake to enjoy my last fleeting moments of mortality. Thankfully the world didn't end and the Phillies won a fun one against a good team.
I really enjoy the Reds the past two seasons. I think its because they remind me so much of the 2006-2008 Phillies. Except that Joey Votto got a deserved MVP award and Utley did not get his deserved award. Edited by Equality 7-2521 - May 26 2011 at 09:52 |

Yes, the Reds are very solid.
Is Utley going to play today? |

Unless he woke up today with something wrong he's playing.
Baseball is about 140% better when Chase Utley is playing. |

The mercy rule should be in effect at the Red Sox - Tigers game. Red Sox lead 14 to 1 over the Tigers in the 8th inning. They are currently in a rain delay, but at this point they might as well be done with it.

Cliff Lee beasts it today going 2-4 with a 2B and 3 RBI. Plus Chase hits his first home run in a 10 - 4 win. And I have off tomorrow. And I have off Monday. I'm liking the tail end of this week.

I need Chase to have a solid year for the sake of my fantasy team.

I took out a copy of Ken Burns "Baseball - The Ninth Inning" on DVD at my library. I own the Tenth Inning (which they had 3 copies of at the library), but they didn't have any others strangely enough.

Bad series against the Red Sox. The Tigs could only take 1 out of the 4 game series and only 1 out of the 6-game season series. Too bad we didn't get them at the beginning of the season when they were playing bad. Verlander was a beast last night though, outdueling Beckett for a 3 - 0 victory.
The first game of the doubleheader was pretty good. It was too bad that Big Papi beat Papa Grande for a home run in the 9th inning. Tigers lost 4-3. Apparently, I made national TV again, as that home run landed about 10 rows in front of my seats, and my dad called to tell me that he saw me.

Very hot day at the ball park today, but the Tigers win on a controversial play 6 to 5 over the Twinkies.

No more controversial than Brandon Inge not getting hit by a pitch during the 163rd game against the Twins.
I can't even say this latest call evens the score.

Jays beat the Tribe 11-1. The bats really wanted JoJo to finally get a win. He pitched a complete game, so I guess he really wanted it as well.
