I'm not really picky about my picks. My current batch are blue.  Eric Johnson's CD Bloom comes with one he likes to use. It's small thin and red.

Released date are often when it it impacted you but recorded dates are when it really happened...

typically 1mm or less, but occasionally also heavier picks. The reason I've preferred Dean Markley picks over all the others over the years is because their surface is far less slippery than that of the typical pick.

I love the sound of thins to strum acoustic but I tear them up too quickly.
My dad turned me on to the idea of a three headed pick, if something slips in your hand you're good and if you chip one tip you're still good.

It generally depends on what guitar I'm using and what song I'm playing  I'll use a .5 for strumming acoustic songs, then go for a heavier pick when I'm picking or playing my Strat.

I've got some red, black, and Ultex Jazz IIIs. Tend to favour the Ultex ones. Bloody things keep going missing though

I was going to add, it seems the really skilled ones (Beck, Knopfler) just don't bother with a pick at all.

Well I have a bunch of Dunlop nylons .60mm very light and pliable as I ain't much of a fingerpicker. Wish I was, because it seems to get fairly good results for the two I mentioned
