Liriano. You don't tell a pitcher with the rare ability to miss bats to pitch to contact.

Back to .500 for the Buccos. Their pitching stunk it up last night.

The Tribe has won 14 homes games in a row. What is up with that?

They started removing the female owner's clothing early this year.

Sizemore returned healthy and some other talent that they have is actually living up to it. They're actually not a bad team when you get over how bad they have been in recent yeras. |

He's was one of the best pitchers in the league when he was striking out batters last year. He's an atrocious pitcher this season. |

Following today's game, the Jays get a night off (which they haven't earned), and then play 20 straight games. The starting pitching has sure been a letdown, which is tiring the bullpen in the process.

Alright!!! Two-run pinch-hit home run from Jhonny Peralta off of the Twins closer and the Tigers now lead 7 to 6.

That's better. 9 to 7 Tigers going into the bottom of the 9th. It's Papa Grande time.

I can't make ends of baseball statistics. The Atlanta Braves have a run differential 5 runs ahead of the Philadelphia Phillies, but they're 4 games back. Neither the best offenses nor the best defenses (pitching, anyway) are tops in wins. It's like the whole sport is just a coin toss.

I maintain that they will finish below .500. That pitching staff isn't going to hold up.

I'd put money on them finishing above .500 and possibly competing for that division.

It's not that surprising at all given the small samples. If you look at it in terms of WAR, it's not confusing at all. The Phillies offense and pitching have been worth 4.8 and 8.1 WAR respectively for a total of 12.9. The Braves have that triple slash of 2.7/7.2/9.9. WAR predicts a 3 game difference which is pretty accurate. Now the Braves will hit better than they have been. However, when the Phillies are healthy they will also. Ah, but you forget the number 1 thing going against them: they are the CLEVELAND Indians

I think the atrociousness of the division might outweigh the suckitude of everything Cleveland.

It looks like we will be losing Harmon Killebrew soon. His giving up his battle with cancer. It's sad. The guy could hit it a mile. He's number 11 on the all time home run list with 573.
