Since they beat the Mets I'll drink to that as well.

The Tigers take 3 out of 4 from the Yankees and win the season series 4 games to 3. The season is a success no matter what else happens the rest of the year.

^^^^^ I'm guessing you're happy about Verlander's no-hitter. I, on the other hand, am not, being that it was against Toronto.

Canada having a baseball team makes as much sense to me as Florida having hockey teams.

Great game by Verlander. I wouldn't be too upset about it, but the Jays also gave up 9 runs.

It was a great game by Verlander. The thought crept into my mind after he retired the first 9 hitters in a row. I went out and played catch with my nephews, and when I came back in it was the 6th inning and he had retired 15 in a row. I was glued to the TV from there on out. It would have been nice to see a perfect game, but that guy really earned his walk there in the 8th inning with a 12? pitch at-bat.

It is pink bat day down at the ballpark day. Happy Mother's Day to all the baseball moms out there.

Is it too soon to start looking at the wild card standing?
Buccos one game below .500 and 2.5 games out of first place. |

I heard the ball 4 call was very questionable.

I'd say it was a fair call. It was hittable, but just away from the far edge of the plate if I remember correctly. Arencibia earned that walk. That was Toronto's highlight of the game. Don't take it away from them.

I didn't catch today's game, but I now know that JoJo Reyes is now winless in his last 25 starts. Not good.

Tigers won 5 to 2. The Jays did get a hit in the first inning, so they got that monkey off of their backs early. The Jays only offense came on a 2-run homer from Bautista. The Tigers score 2 in the 7th on an Austin Jackson 2-run homer to take a 4-2 lead, and then scored once more in the 8th on a double from Magglio Ordonez followed by a single by Cabrera. I'm not sure why the Jays didn't walk Cabrera with first base open, but they paid the price that other teams have paid for not walking him.

The Buccos are at .500. Too bad we got to start playing some good teams soon.

Every game in the American league yesterday included a team that finished with 5 runs. http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/blog/big_league_stew/post/Gimme-Five-American-League-scoreboard-features-?urn=mlb-wp5759

The Tigers went from losing 7 in a row, to winning 6 out of 7 from the Yankees and Blue Jays and are now at .500 with a 2-game series against the Twinkies. Hopefully, the Tigers aren't the cure that the Twins have been looking for. They always seem to get well when they play the Tigers.

The Twins management have decided to ruin an elite pitcher so I sure hope that you don't give them a chance to win that division.

Which pitcher is that? The Tigers had a nice 10 to 2 win over the Twinkies yesterday. They are tied 1 - 1 in the bottom of the 3rd so far today.
