I think bands should be represented not by their most recent photo but by one that represents their most classic and prog-related (not our subgenre) era of a band. In DT's case, please, Portnoy was the founder and was in all the band's albums. It should stay.

Next: Changing Genesis' pic to on with just Rutherford and Banks...

Agreed. That's why I commented as I did on the first page.

I think there are a couple of issues to be considered and resolved here. Not specifically about DT, but in general.

Firstly - What should be the site policy on the photos? Current line up, first line up, classic line up, best looking line up, band preferred photo, etc. At present, we only have the facility to add one picture, unless someone creates a collage, so a policy would be helpful.

Secondly, who makes the decision? Personally, I think the appropriate genre team should decide. I certainly don't see it as an admin issue (although Admin should help to identify site policy) or an Errors and omissions issue (unless we currently have no picture).

This is more of a "help us improve the site" issue, and perhaps should be discussed by the collaborators in their area too.

If a ruling is required from M@x, I'll ask him for it, but i think it would be better if we can go to him with some sort of consensus. Meanwhile, I'd suggest we leave DT as it is, pending clarification of the policy.

Although it seems there is no policy on this( I tried to find one) I think in general we have used the more established band pic.

All your suggestions sound very reasonable Bob. So thanks for that.Thumbs Up

It's been made abundantly clear that the picture shouldn't be changed to I doubt asking Max is really necessary. I guess we should all just move on now LOL

Actually, in this case, I'm in favor of using the original lineup picture:
