They definitely need to play more dbl headers during the season to get the WS over by no later than the second weekend in Oct. They really can't start any earlier than they do unless they schedule all the games in March in the warmer climate cities. Another thing to consider is that I don't want to see Baseball become something like Hockey or Basketball where half of the teams make the playoffs. It is nice to see your team make it but some years there is a possibility of a sub .500 team making them as it is. |

Back-to-back awesome games as the Tigers beat the Sox 9 to 3 and 9 to 0. Yesterday was cold, rainy and miserable the entire game. Today was warm, sunny and beautiful: a great day to be at the ballpark.

Yanks up 13-3 over the Orioles....
Not a huge surprise there, I guess maybe just how big the lead is ![]() Hit like 4 or 5 home runs, and a Grand Slam from A-Rod. It is a little unnerving, the Yanks have been piling up runs like a machine but almost all from the long ball. Would like to see better overall hitting, and not be reliant on the home run, but for right now can't complain... |

How did the Buccos score 5 in the first against the Nattys last night? That;s more than they scored in the entire Marlins series.

I'm going to guess that's why? ![]() Edit: Well Yanks up 3-0 and a great pitching game...allow the O's to tie it up and then rain hits. That quickly went from coasting game to OT and now in rain delay. Oi... Jeter hit #2,944 moving him to 30th all time Edited by JJLehto - April 24 2011 at 16:14 |

The Tigers shut out the White Sox for the 2nd day in a row and swept the series! Scherzer pitched great again, and is 4-0 so far this year. Looks like trouble brewing in Chi-town.

11 innings and a 45 minute rain delay is all it took. Yanks went on a tear when the game restarted, win 6-3.
Jeter had 4 hits, hopefully he's finally gotten jump started. |

The Buccos are 3 games under .500. It appears that it's business as usual.

Don't be so sure. Adam Dunn has always been a "swing as hard as you can and hope to hell you hit it" kind of player. I'm sure he'll get hot soon, but don't count out a poor season. |

His BABIP is a full 2 standard deviations away from his career average and he's also striking out more than usual. Some of the latter change is due to bat speed decreasing as he ages, but the BABIP can't really be explained.
There's no way he continues on anything close to this pace, unless he's injured. His profile ages poorly, but not that poorly. A down year is definitely possible and very likely at this stage of the season, but he'll be fine. |

By season's end you'll be looking at about what Carlos Pena gave the Rays last year.
Been waiting for the drop off a cliff year from Dunn for awhile now. This could be it. Edited by manofmystery - April 25 2011 at 17:52 |

Tigers had a disappointing loss to the Mariners today 7 to 3. The weather co-operated as it stayed dry except for about a 1 minute rain shower that consisted of giant raindrops. With Hernandez facing Coke it wasn't really surprising that the Tigers lost, but they did have Hernandez on the ropes twice and couldn't get the big blow in on him. That and Ryan Raburn really sucked up the joint today.

It took 10 innings before the Buccos gave away game one.
