Exactly.  But for that to work, you have to be able to wound and even kill the intruder.  At least, you have to create a fear of that, as a deterrent.

Quote And that's actually pretty interesting. Obviously you guys gun laws are bad, but how about law saying everyone MUST have a gun? Are you on board with that? I mean it's the guvment telling the people what to do.
Even if this was a intended to be a mockery, I do believe there are are towns that have mandatory gun ownership.

I've heard of that, but I've also heard those laws aren't usually enforced.

Either way, of course I don't believe in the government requiring anyone to own a gun.  Personally, I don't own a gun, though I plan to eventually, and it's not really an investment I feel the need to make right now.

Forcing US citizens to buy a gun is unconstitutional.  Just like forcing US citizens to buy health insurance is unconstitutional.

It's just as bad as forbidding someone to have a gun. It's forcing people to act differently than they would like to, when the action does not harm others. It's tyrannical. Both of them rob freedom.

A couple of years ago I chased a purse snatcher through the woods and into some old man's yard.  That punk would have kept right on trucking if that old man hadn't come out and fired into the air.

True, but there's also the fact that it's just plain wrong.

I think I've said it enough k?
But yeah it's pretty terrible.

Cool thing is I can attack it from the left and right!
Cool

Edit: Yeah, internet debate is pretty silly isn't it? People who watched the other thread, and I suppose this one, probably think we're all fools.

And he never listens to them,
He knows that they're the fools

I actually truly believe that this thread is less foolish than the "pop vs prog" or "what makes prog better than pop" or "I'm an outcast if I don't like prog I don't have an identity" threads.... Tongue

This guy told the police he found the purse in the bathroom and was trying to return it.  LOL

I asked "What were you doing in the ladies' room?"  Stern Smile

Debating this is much less silly than people debating whether Close to the Edge is better than Relayer, or what the definition of prog should be.

You have actually defined prog: excuse for people to debate whether Close to the Edge is better than Relayer and look smart in the process. Tongue
