Your argument is like saying builders wouldn't put doors on houses unless the government made them, because there's no profit in it. The fact that you want one shows that there's profit in it. Further, since the government didn't build it or pay for it, there's no difference between a builder putting one on the house or you putting it there yourself.
Regardless I find it silly how much you seem to hate the postal service (atleast the way its set up) when I cant for the life of me see whats so wrong with it. It makes you seem obsessivly cause centered to bring your libertarianism into every discussion and refuse to accept that some things work and are convenient (and not opressive in the least) whenever any one thing does not conform to your overarching theory.

the citizens of this nation see nothing wrong with the postal system having a monopoly on mailboxes and letters and until they change their minds it will remain this way. the system is working and the collective majority likes it, so why insist that it is in need of reform when it obviously isn't

Here's something I don't get either.  The USPS spends about $2.3 billion on fuel to deliver mail each year.  Funny thing about environmentalist, big-government liberals...

Actually in 2009 the usps spent 1.1 billion on fuel.
44,000 alternative fuel vehicles are employed by the usps.
The usps delivers mail to the bottom of Grand  Canyon on mules, lets see ups or fed ex do that.
A majority of mailmen walk their routes.

A majority of mailmen walk their routes?  Please show me a valid source for this.  By majority, I mean more than 50%.

The USPS delivers mail on mules?  Um..okay? UPS delivers things in big trucks.  Big trucks are better than mules.
You gave a inflated number on how much gas was used, how about you substantiate your claim and while you are at it tell us about the pieces of mail moved by the usps for that fuel.

Excuse me, only 20% of mail is delivered on foot.

The mule part was a little humor but absolutely true.

And some more humor is your little cliche of libertarians who want to rail on about the government with your words which won't ever be backed with anything but hot air.

You don't like the government, then tear it down, all talk, no action.

These are the libertarians ya know, if the government is involved with it...they could get riled up over plastic cups!

And really, it's all fine. UPS is good. Had problems with it. USPS is good. Had problems with it.

Whatever

You don't see being  $7 billion (and probably more) in the red problematic?

No, don't bother, I already know your answer.

And your point is?
I don't have a dilemma because I don't feel negative towards the government.
The libs are filled with negativity and hate.
Why paddle against the current, all rivers flow into the ocean whether you like it or not, and is this a false dillema..........you could always leave America

You have set up a false dichotomy in that we must either accept the status quo completely or overthrow the government, which is clearly ridiculous.

Yeah, accept the government as is, stage a revolution or leave the country.

Pretty reasonable sounding to me!

Oh I don't have nearly as much to gripe about with the government as our libertarian friends.
Especially being quite a leftist.

I just am an a****le Tongue

I am not the one moaning about the government , you are.
The mark of a moderate man is freedom from his own ideas.
Will you deliver my mail?
