Though it might as well have been you, since it was your Padawan, Apprentice, Pupil and future Right Hand MOM who once said government's power had to be curbed lest it fall in the hands of people like me. Quite stalinist I felt. It struck a nerve. And started quite a deep introspection (which was underway anyway, but I had never approached it from a political/ideological point of view).

I have to continue studying. Maybe one day I'll label myself. For now, I'm closer to this than I am to that.

And none will ever make me like Sigur Ros.

And I was told that comparing people to despots and dictators wasn't an effective way to communicate to them.

Catholics believe in the Bible but many of them are very, ehem, "selective" in what they belief. And even more "selective" in what they choose to APPLY. I was born in a 95% catholic country so I think I know a little. So does Bryan, according to The Shield, believe in market forces. It's my interpretation and I don't think it makes anyone look crazy.

The error is, probably, not saying "christians" instead of just "catholics".

It wasn't a swipe. Just an analogy. I was raised Catholic in an all Catholic neighborhood so it's a natural comparison.

I was effectively taught to ignore the Old Testament throughout 14 years of Catholic school. I was also taught to ignore some selected pieces of the New Testament. So I've always found it strange when also told we believe in the Bible.

But of course nobody can deny that I'm crazy. That's an entirely separate issue.
