A lifelong question, but there can only be one. What do you like more?

Haven't had a donot in yars. Bagels are usually adorned with lox and chive cream cheese. I don't think I've ever had butter on a bagel, so I'm with you guys. Edited by Slartibartfast - December 21 2010 at 15:38

Voted doughnuts, but they have to be very fresh and cooked properly. Can't stand them when they are greasy, doughy or old.

Doughnuts for me. I like peanut butter on my bagels. Also, making mini-pizzas with bagels.

Dunkin Donuts > Krispy Kreme. But I can see voting for Krispy Kreme if your idea of a donut is frying an egg white and pouring sugar on it.

Let's see:
Soft, sweet circles of pure deliciousness
vs.
Hard, jaw-straining circles of neutral-tasting freak bread
tough choice
Time always wins.

Absolutely. The problem these days is finding a truly good, properly made bagel. Grew up in NYC and used to get the best bagels on the planet. Most of the good bagel bakeries are gone. Very hard to find good bagels here in Massachusetts.
