A lifelong question, but there can only be one. What do you like more?

Haven't had a donot in yars.  Bagels are usually adorned with lox and chive cream cheese.

I don't think I've ever had butter on a bagel, so I'm with you guys.

Butter is for bread! But my vote goes to Donuts.

Voted doughnuts, but they have to be very fresh and cooked properly. Can't stand them when they are greasy, doughy or old.

Doughnuts for me.  I like peanut butter on my bagels.  Also, making mini-pizzas with bagels.

Dunkin Donuts > Krispy Kreme.

But I can see voting for Krispy Kreme if your idea of a donut is frying an egg white and pouring sugar on it.

Absolutely. The problem these days is finding a truly good, properly made bagel. Grew up in NYC and used to get the best bagels on the planet. Most of the good bagel bakeries are gone. Very hard to find good bagels here in Massachusetts.

I like me some doffnuts (which is what I call them when they're spelled with the "ugh").

Bagels are nice although I've never cared for creamcheese.  (Which, by the way, is correctly called "schmear" when applied to a bagel.)

it's getting harder to find good donuts and bagels both--  most jelly donuts these days are not filled with jelly but some cornstarch-based crap; and real bagels are firm but chewy things that are boiled before baked, period.  That bready stuff ain't no bagel, it ain't never caught a rabbit and ain't no friend of mine.

A coinflip for me but I am leaning towards bagels. Cheese and jalapeno or onion. Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

We don't really have bagels here in Australia, so I can't really comment on the quality of the few I had, but I definitely prefer donuts. Not a big fan of either though.
