By the way, if anyone wants to add me on Steam, then go for it.  My name is TheGeck0 on there, I think.  Although my display name is Juris H. Smirnoff.

It was a very good game , I spent almost 50 hours playing it for the last 2 months. However, while I think the characters ( not the villain) were superior to VII and VIII , the story was a bit weak.
Also the final battles were incredibly easy , my party was at level 52 more or less and using Ultima I killed the demi god wannabe in 2 mins.
The soundtrack was superb though.

Playing X3. Great game, impressive and going quite well on high details. It will take some time for me to learn it well though. But I was expecting it.

Thanks for rec.

Planescape Torment - played six years ago, truly one of the best games I've saw. Mostly because of story, atmosphere and setting (I enjoy reading Planescape-related things). However, even it's possible to die and go on playing after death, I never used this feature, I rather loaded and did things differently, better, not leading to death. It was tough though.

Spoilerific discussion, highlight to read: You cannot finish the game without dying at least 3 times in the crypt. I also finished the game without having any party members die under my command, but TNO has to go down a few times no matter how you slice it. Besides, who didn't love hopping up and saying "Your turn!"?

What about something like good old Elite 2 - Frontier, only in modern version. Something like Homeworld or Freelancer.

If you're into building massive, ultra-complex commercial space empires, try X3. Of course, it's also a game you have to invest 4 or 5 hours just to get your bearings on the system, let alone play the game. The earlier game in the series, X2, might run on your system -- it's 7 years old now.

Or something similar to Beyond Good & Evil in spirit - action platform game they call it ?

I would just call it an action adventure game, a-la Zelda. Older suggestions are the Legacy of Kain series and American McGee's Alice, if that'll still run. Most recently, Darksiders comes to mind, but that's neither here nor there. If you liked the stealth part, Thief II and III are good old ones, but first-person, and there's always the Splinter Cell series.

Or solid action in spirit of Serious Sam 2 or Painkiller. Anything like that ?

MDK2 for third-person. First-person... meh, there's always stuff like Will Rock, but nothing really great.

RE: Deus Ex music - not my cup of tea, really. And I used to stick in locations for quite a long time, so music has become too repetitive.

The DX intro theme will always have a place in my heart.

OK, there is something about this theme and I haven't spend much time in menus. However liking game music depends very much on your personal music preferences. I for example like X3 music a lot. It's a killer, I want soundtrack somehow :-)

MDK1-MDK2, two old games I always somehow wanted to play, but never was close to actually play them.

Played Alice this summer, dark, interesting stuff. Thief - wants to play it sooner or later.

X2 - never liked it much, not looking that nice. Kain -played a little bit, but it deserves proper playing.

Hey Gamemako, I like your choice of words and attitude, thanks again for this extensive reply.

Oi, Kefka is easily the best villain of the whole series. Wink

Final Fantasy is a movie briefly interspersed with gameplay anyway, I don't see the point. :P

I was playing some Bejeweled 2 because I got it on the free day, TAKE THAT HARDCORE GAMERS. I also beat Give Up Robot.

Was 5 bucks due to a holiday special so I figured I'd dl it.  Played the first two single player missions, which were decent.  Didn't know about all the gameplay options.

I see what you did there.

FFVI was made back when Square realized that the storyline was best told through gameplay rather than an abundance of cutscenes.  I myself have dreamed of there being an anime based on Chrono Trigger.

Indeed. For some strange reason, I prefer Fallout 2, even these two should be the same. Maybe it's that there's far more things to do in sequel than in first part, maybe.
