I'm not sure how to feel about that.
Also no wonder they're all so good, these are like internet mafia pros!

They're all friends of Alex's from other forums where they play Mafia regularly.  Then friends of friends joined and so on.  It's our job to turn them to the darker side of avant. Evil Smile

Well, if you ever want to hear mind-blowing avant-garde weirdness or mind-f*cking experimental metal, make sure to ask any of us.

Are you looking for more avant-ish rock/metal or full on avant?

Starter stuff~ not TOO over the top to start, so I can work my way up. As a base point, i like Floyd, my fave band of any genre. I like quite a bit of Prog Metal. So i guess I would like to be directed to a thread with bands with lower levels of experimentation, to work my way up, yes?

Or do you recommend otherwise?

Glad to see music discussion going on in here. Thumbs Up

I should be using plenty of awesome Avanty-musical-stuff for my game, so that will be good exposure. Most (if not all) of the accompanying music to posts will be from Avant-Garde artists (the only exception being Avant-Garde-ish music from artists who typically would not be considered such).

So, I do have some suggestions, but I'll save them for when I have more time and for the music in the game as well.

Oh, and Unexpect is pretty cool.

If you like Floyd/psychedelic stuff, you should check out Krautrock.  The genre is pretty varied, but a lot of psych stuff but better. Wink

Krautrock is great!

Also looking into this band Alchemist.
I'd say they could be avant metal, but prog for sure.
Death metal roots + psychedelic and aboriginal music?

And those vocals are intense!
