They're all friends of Alex's from other forums where they play Mafia regularly. Then friends of friends joined and so on. It's our job to turn them to the darker side of avant.

That WAS pretty crazy, lol, but also cool~ can you direct me to a beginners Avant thread? I always have been eclectic, and like a great deal of prog, but this is new to me

Starter stuff~ not TOO over the top to start, so I can work my way up. As a base point, i like Floyd, my fave band of any genre. I like quite a bit of Prog Metal. So i guess I would like to be directed to a thread with bands with lower levels of experimentation, to work my way up, yes?
I should be using plenty of awesome Avanty-musical-stuff for my game, so that will be good exposure. Most (if not all) of the accompanying music to posts will be from Avant-Garde artists (the only exception being Avant-Garde-ish music from artists who typically would not be considered such).
So, I do have some suggestions, but I'll save them for when I have more time and for the music in the game as well.

Or do you recommend otherwise?
If you like Floyd/psychedelic stuff, you should check out Krautrock. The genre is pretty varied, but a lot of psych stuff but better.
