So glad you finally got yours as well. I finally got a chance to watch mine last night - as good as I remembered from the premiere, and I enjoyed the extras, especially the Q&A from Mexico. And, as you say, great presentation. ![]() |

It was fantastic IMO - really good documentary of sorts. Listening to A Western Home now on the 2nd disc. Really awesome stuff! Like nothing from SW I've heard before.

I loved A Western Home as well. Excellent track. BTW - Marek and I saw The Legendary Pink Dots last night at the Orpheum Theatre in Ybor City (Tampa), FL. Tiny venue, I counted 42 people in the audience, but amazing sound and what a performance! Wonderful musicians and Edward Ka-spel's lyrics often reminded me of Steven Wilson's darker ventures. His delivery reminded me more of the Syd Barrett era of Pink Floyd - very intricate and intimate, with unflinching details. Interestingly, in speaking with Edward Ka-spel after the show, when I mentioned being a fan of Porcupine Tree and Steven Wilson, he said that Wilson had recently contacted him for the first time. No idea as to whether a collaboration is in the making, but what a collaboration it would be - definitely one worth waiting for! ![]() |

I want Porcupine Tree to start taking risks, improvising, and adding a much needed energy boost to their recordings and live performances.
It's not going to happen any time soon.

Energy boost? When I saw them live in Feb this year, their energy levels were through the roof. They practically tore the place apart during Anesthetize part two: The Pills I'm Taking.
My copy of Insurgentes arrived on Thursday while I was out, and they just left a little postal collection card in the mailbox. I haven't had a chance to go and collect it yet. I'll pick it up today.

I think you have no idea what PT is all about. You must be talking about Dream Theater. ![]() |

I couldn't have said it better. Never in my life have I followed a band on tour, but I saw PT five times during The Incident tour - and, as Kashnir75 said, they rocked the house every single time!!! They are quite simply outstanding live. |

Hehe, Porcupine Tree are easily one of the most energetic live acts I've ever seen. And as for adding some new improv stuff to their live recordings, check out the Arriving Somewhere (DVD) versions of Open Car and Hatesong - Open Car has a whole new section, and Hatesong has an extended guitar and drum section full of jamming. They also have a 4 or 5 minute improv break on the Coma Divine live album during Radioactive Toy. Gavin also literally changes and adds flourishes to his drumming for most tracks they play live, too. Hehe, sorry for ranting, but I definitely don't see what you're getting at. ![]() |

I read on his Facebook page that he wants suggestions of what else to upload onto his Soundcloud page. Someone should suggest all the In Absentia demos up that never made the album!!!

If you open the soundcloud link and scroll through, I'm 100% sure SW has uploaded that and the other 5 tracks from the Insurgentes bonus disc

^He's uploaded the bonus tracks from the Japanese versions and the deluxe edition of Insurgentes, but A Western Home is only on the Insurgentes DVD Film's 2nd DVD.
