Ok guys. Come the hell on, now. Yes, Magma is insanely awesome. But Zappa is clearly the superior choice here. He's pretty much the greatest and most influential composer of the 20th century. He was one of the most influential musicians of all time, and was a genius in pretty much every way. Of course, knowing the people on this site, Magma will win this. Only on this site.
Maybe because this is the only site where people vote for what they believe and feel, not for what others believe is correct to vote for.

Your opinion is so incorrect, it's ridiculous
Erm, for greats, how about Schoenberg (though born in the 19th Century), Carl Orff (though born 1895), and Stockhausen, Xenakis, Ligeti, Berio, Cage. And how about Coleman, Coltrane, Davis, Monk, Hancock, Evans etc.
I watch that video every time you post it. For some reason, I like it. But I wouldn't call it prog. It's almost the same riff throughout. And it isn't better than "Peaches en Regalia."

However, no vote from me.
I watch it every time I post it too :)

While you were watching it, I enjoyed Kansas with your mama.

I voted for Zappa, but this comment is rather ridiculous. Just because he's influential that doesn't mean he's the best. I prefer his body of work, and that's why I voted for him. I don't really care what other people think my opinion "should" be.
Hell, Britney Spears is more influential than any modern prog band. Are we going to say that she's better than The Flower Kings or Spock's Beard?
