Absolutely, very entertaining long after the song is over. Particularly since hardly anyone makes new music anymore. No KC (2000), PF (1994), Yes (9/11/2001), Genesis (1997), Tull (2000), ELP (1994.) Maybe it's time to only include active bands. Unless compilations etc count. Or solo albums I suppose. e.g. DG. KE, IA, RW, TB, PC, CP, (Asia?) etc...

In fact what would be more appealing, the solo projects (life aftre the dinosaur...) or nostalgic sentimentality Deadto the good old daze...

but fun poll, true.

A poll is a joke and this is one of the nicest ever.
I strongly supported Camel and Yes against Genesis and I'm a bit disappointed, but I will not throw apples against the referee.

It will be nice to see what will happen in the final tha I expect to be Genesis vs Pink Floyd.

At the end  nobody will win or loose anything, so please all bear this in mind.
Thanks to UndercoveBoy. He has spent time and effort ans I think we all have enjoyed his work.
I stand with Roger Waters, I stand with Joan Baez, I stand with Victor Jara, I stand with Woody Guthrie. Music is revolution

No it doesn't, it shows how little they trust the poll-maker.

DEAL WITH IT, PEOPLE.

Yes, I see what you mean. Well, that's only because poll makers in real life (politics for e.g.) are untrustworthy. blackening the reputation of even the good ones, well the Prog Archives polls.

The only thing I don't quite understand is if the poll is over how come the votes still come in. I mean all fine... but how does one stop a poll? And I am not referring to a former gf who lives in Warsaw, so no funnies...Wink

Tough one.  Really, very tough.  Shouldn't these two groups have been seeded so they didn't meet till the final stages?  By a smidgen - it's YES

Inaccurate???? It's a poll, not a census.

I mean, really, it's a series of polls taken over a week or so.

Ideally, of course, Yes and Genesis wouldn't have had to duke it out early on but then, ideally, VDGG and King Crimson wouldn't have had to duke it out early on. And really, does it matter?

(and can you think of a better way to decide it?)

I give the nod to Yes, but only by the slimmest of margins.

Each band has its strong points. It is a shame that one must choose.

Hmm, despite the score above finishing at 113 -110 in their favour Yes still managed to lose.

Still, the tournament should have been schedueled in such a way that two such bands as Yes and Genesis didn't match themselves so early, they should have matched up at least one round later.
