Due to some people being disappointed that I changed my mind about including archive experimental material on the free CD to be included with pre-orders of the Insurgentes DVD (in favour of a much more recent piece of music), I have instead uploaded an album's worth of this material to be downloaded for free from the link here. "Tape Experiments 1985-86" does what it says on the box. These are full resolution WAV files, and so of course reveal all the flaws of the original grimy cassettes they were taken from. Enjoy or endure!

Wow, I'm really upset that he's only putting ONE song on the bonus CD...

C'mon SW, you could give your loyal fans a little more. Disapprove

Here's one of SW's aborted tracks that was to appear on the bonus CD.

It's entitled "An End to End."

damn, i was really expecting the early stuff.

oh well, if steven says it's awful i'll take his word for it. it would certainly been interesting though, but i think that this will be much better musically.

i'm still really happy that i got it. should have bought at least two thoughTongue

I hope you guys got your copy of the Insurgentes DVD! Over here, its September 1st, and the free gift sadly no longer applies!

From PT's Twitter:

A new t-shirt based on Recordings artwork available soon. Special one-off Radio City and RAH shirts will also be onsale at those shows.

STEVEN! LOL What did I tell you about no more things to buy until 2011? Bad Steven! Tongue

I agree. Even though I don't think there's any good reason they left it off the DVD, they really should offer it as a download, for the Mick Karn fund.

Still not sure why they don't release the mixed version from the Anesthetize recording as an MP3 for a pound, like they did with Meantime. They could put it towards the Mick Karn fund or something like that and make a bunch for that as well, since they don't seem to be doing anything with it right now.

Yeah, I wish they'd release a live version of Stars Die, with the full band. I have the acoustic one on We Lost The Skyline, which is lovely, but I would love a band performance too. Pretty please, PT?

Really hope they release a version some day. They simply have to!

Also, currently listening to some I.E.M. whilst studying, really great to chill out and focus to. Man I love this whole boxset.

Hey guys, I thought this forum had been deleted... Anyway I've found it again so all is right with the world!

Really loving Recordings at the moment. I've played it at least 10 times since it arrived. I don't know where it ranks in my favourite PT album list though. Need to listen to it a bit more.

On the topic of The Incident will it won't it be released on DVD, well I really hope it is at some point. Shame about the RAH gig not being filmed, but even though I'm not going I have to agree with them wanting to keep it special for the fans that go.

I just want a full band, live version of Stars Die, end of... Then I'll be happy!!!

So we may be getting an Incident tour DVD, just not yet. I can live with that! They obviously don't wanna bleed us dry, like some bands do with the live DVD overkill.

^Same here, it hasn't been at all new for quite a while now

Some new stuff on the PT twitter regarding a new DVD:

  1. @AlbinoPriest Chicago: The Incident (55 mins), Bonnie the Cat, Russia On Ice, Stars Die, none on DVD before. But not enough for a new DVD. about 13 hours ago via TweetDeck in reply to AlbinoPriest
  2. Well we did say "yet"! Anestheztie only just came out. Remember when bands only made one live release every 4-5 studio records? Was good! about 14 hours ago via TweetDeck
  3. Our show in Chicago in April was filmed, including a complete performance of the Incident, but no plans to release it yet. about 14 hours ago via TweetDeck

It's great! Rigid digibook packaging, with a red finish. Photos of all the bandmembers, and track listing and details. Looks very nice next to the other PT discs on my shelf. Now, please SW, will you stop releasing stuff just for a few months? LOL Need to get my budget back on track! I think after this Recordings reissue, I'm safe...for now.
