Where the
is Geddy Lee?!
Oh well. Squire for me on this poll. Although my favorite bassist of all time is Cliff Burton, followed by Geddy Lee. Then Squire.

Out of these, Chris Squire, but I love Lemmy and Ray Shulman as well. Shulman plays some mean bass on Live at the Bicentennial especially.
As far as other favorites, there are simply too many to list.

Mick Karn, Percy Jones, John G.Perry, Nick Beggs and Tony Levin are my top 5
I never post anything anywhere without doing more than basic research, often in depth.

As a bass player myself, I'd probably put Ray Shulman at the top of the list. There are a number of bass players missing though from the list (especially American and Canadian).
As much as I like (and get a kick out of) Lemmy, his style is sort of humourous. He plays it like a guitar, with chords and distortion. It's different, but not necessarily creative. He still gets points for his work with Hawkwind, and being an original. Just like Ozzy, you know there's only one Lemmy. Personality is a bonus.

Stanley Clarke, John Entwistle, Dennis Dunaway and Geezer Butler.

I'm sure it's been mentioned but Entwistle, Lee, Wetton, Berlin, and my favorite Bruce aren't even on the list.
