Certainly a great musician.Wish You Were Here has amazing textures thanks to Mr Wright.
Agree. But the same happens with Echoes, Sheep, Us and Them, Brain damage, etc. and Division Bell as an Overall thing.

The intro to Sheep is amazing and Echoes is superb without doubt but for me WYWH (the whole album) is still Rick's 'shining' moment.

That's true
Yeah, his work on Shine On You Crazy Diamond is sublime, epic. And so is his work on Welcome to the Machine, one of the first songs I loved by Floyd back when I was 11.

Rick Wakeman is my all-time favorite, but of these my favorite is the other Rick. I'm surprised to see Wright leading this poll by such an overwhelming margin, but hey, I'm not complaining.

Don't forget See Emily Play, Jugband Blues and all the early PF work.
The Great Rick in the Sky
I stand with Roger Waters, I stand with Joan Baez, I stand with Victor Jara, I stand with Woody Guthrie. Music is revolution

Yeah, that's what I thought too Most of their early stuff (... i.e. up to Meddle, my fave period!) couldn't have made it without the trippy Farfisa solos and eastern improvisations of Mr. Wright.

I don't understand how this poll wouldn't have Tony Banks in it. His sound was so essential to the greatest prog group of all time. Great sound, tasteful and restrained playing. I can't believe he was left off the list along with Emerson and Wakeman. No, I don't like this poll.

I said exactly the same at first (about the Poll and Tony Banks), but look at the lines over the poll...
Tony Banks best keyboardist ever... great performer and great songwriter.
