Why? time sigs, long songs, concept albums, virtuoso music - no Judas Priest has none of this and cant be prog. IM definitely are.

To that I would counter listen to Rocka Rolla, Sad Wings of Destiny, Painkiller, and Nostradamas. And if Loch Ness from Angel of Retribution isn't a progressive rock song, than I definitely am wasting too much time on the wrong site. For what it is worth, I have accepted that the admin team is not going to allow JP into PA and even though I respectfully disagree with their decision, I can live with it.
Priest definately have a lot of proggy moments, and I agree that "Sad Wings..." and to some extent "Rocka Rolla" are progressive albums. Personally, I would have no problem with them being considered prog-related. However, I doubt that they will ever be included here, and, if they were, a lot of purist progheads would certainly die from heart attacks and those who wouldn't would gather in a torch bearing lunch mob and march angrily through the village.
Priest are included in metalmusicarchives.com and progfreak.com, so there are plenty of opportunities for your to rate and review their music.
This user has left the PA fora, but will occasionally post reviews so as to support artists.

Funny but even though I voted "Yes" in the poll that song doesn't strike me as progressive, like their early 70s output. But I hope you don't take the "wrong site" thing seriously because of my post

Is it just that they have too much heavy metal in them to be considered for this site? I agree there is a lot of heavy metal here already.
Its a question.....I really don't care if they are here or not...I enjoy JP very much. I personally do not consider them prog at all.
I mean even if they were influenced by any prog artists, I don't think it ever came out in any albums with substance or so much that they went down the road of adding keyboards and longer epic songs with "prog" stories..........I think they stuck to 100% heavy metal rock and roll scheme.

AT THE VERY LEAST, prog-related... 'Nostradamus' has a hell of a lot of progressive things going on.
Wikipedia even admits that there are progressive elements in the earlier albums as well.
If anything, they have been highly influential to a generation of progressive metal bands. In a sense, they fit the same role in Prog as Iron Maiden does...

Well, it depends on your definition of Prog. Judas Priest had no insanely complex time signatures. They never had didgeridoo solos, nor did they have side-long epics. They weren't terribly diverse, and they didn't stuff their music with annoyingly pretentious epic tales about pointless battles or war stories like...ahem... a certain metal band named after a particular torture device. So, in that sense, they aren't prog rock. But, who gives a f**k? I don't. They, however, are much more than your generic metal band. Anyone who calls Sad Wings Of Destiny a pure metal album...just hasn't listened to the thing. Victim of Changes is blues rock, The Ripper is metal, Dreamer Deceiver is psychedelic space rock, Deceiver is hard rock, Epitaph is a friggin' piano ballad...
They were highly influential to the same bands Iron Maiden were, only less power metal, more speed metal. So, I can see them being prog related, based on their first four albums. I definitely see them being prog related for those. Still, I don't give a good god damn if they're here or not. Prog doesn't always equal good, and non-prog doesn't always equal shallow and commercial. Sometimes prog equals blatantly cheesy, self indulging, arrogant noodle garbage, so that sort of prog can suck my a****le, hard. But, I like me some JP.
